Hi David, Glad you got it sorted. Using arrows to navigate and select is, by design, a single-note process so you can't hear chords in the way you'd like. There are other ways but it depends on your workflow. For example, it's possible to create a selection of, say, a quarter note at the start

Hi David, Scrubbing in a MIDI track will deselect it but it won't deselect an audio track. For MIDI tracks, you might want to use the arrow keys along with Shift to select notes rather than trying to scrub. That said, if you do scrub and use Shift to select a range, after selecting the range,

If your selection started at the bottom of the list, that means you probably had no insertion cursor. By using Control P and semicolon, you move the insertion and selection through the tracks and, coincidentally, if there's no insertion cursor to begin with, an insertion cursor is created.
