Only thing i can think of in that price range tht remotely does any of that stuff is the Zoom R16. That being said while its a a 16 channel standalone recorder to an SD card, It only has 8 physical inputs and 8 faders and doubles as an 8 channel interface and a control surface in banks of 8.

TO rename tracks. Navigate to the tracklist table and interact with it. once in there you can use VO up and down arrows to navigate between tracks. VO+Shift+M will bring up a context menu for which rename will be an option on. Click on that to be able to rename the track. I wouldn't worry about

Avid is not allowing wrapping in the AAX format. However they will allow plugins like Blue Cat's MD7 which can host VST Plug ins. There are a few otehr similiar ones. Last i looked at the Blue Cat free series they werent accessible much, I assume the same for MD7 and never really gave it a look.
