Re: [QUAD-L] Dreams
Very interestingI have dreams where I am playing softball and am at bat. I can hit but can’t run to first. Another is I am playing basketball but I am hurting my team so I take myself out and sit on the bench. Next to me is my wheelchair. Ditto Danny. But you get what you get, so no sense worrying about it. Luckily my wheelchair is tough enough that I can bounce around on my property and that has helped to keep my leg muscles from atrophying too much. My injury anniversary is 06-22. I've been a quad for 30yrs. I was injured when I was 14yrs. It was tough. I lived in a small town, the only people you saw in wheelchairs were elderly. All in all it made me strong and perserver (sp). I received my Master's and had my 13th Wedding anniversaries yesterday. My injury anniversaries are filled with positive feelings and memories. My journey has been long and I have many to go. I've had many illnesses and skin issues these last 5 to 7 yrs, but they only make me stronger and want to fight harder. Sincerely, Lisa
Re: [QUAD-L] dreams
The first 3 years or so post sci my deams were mostly AB dreams. Then for about another 3 years they were mostly sci dreams. Then they went back to AB dreams and have been ever since. I love those AB dreams. Tim http://thequadlink.com andrea murray [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: When I dream, I'm walking and even running. Sometime I'm with a man. Hi Adam, I've always been fascinated by dreams. Every since my accident I've worked to control my dreams and dreaming. I love seeing how long I can continue a dream after I awake. I have held onto one for over 10 minutes before my conscious mind realizes I'm awake and takes over. I surely do wish there was someway we could program our dreams. Just dial up a desired experience and snooze away. I spect some would accuse me of trying to escape reality, but that is just fine with me. This quads reality aint that hot. From: David K. I have some, but not very often. I dream in color though, so maybe it uses up more dream time ;^P Since my accident the dreams are far and few, often of events long ago... Re: [QUAD-L] dreams
Those kind were especially heartbreaking for me in the early years, but now I enjoy them it's the only time I feel happy and free and since so many years have passed I no longer have that "this is real not a dream" feeling and don't awaken anymore dismayed to find myself still disabled - thank goodness! Re: [QUAD-L] dreams
Dreams are something.I can remember in a dream I had awhile back in this dream I couldnt make up my mind if I was suppose to be in a chair or not ..What I mean is one minute I was in the chair the next minute I was walking up a couple of stairs then I was in my chair again rolling out to my van and getting on the lift..It was a strange dream.. Wow, every dream? How cool - wish I could, but then there are dreams I wish I could forget! Steph
Re: [QUAD-L] dreams (Adam)
Well, that's the downside of it b/c I'll dream of my exwife and I wake up mad sometimes or upset b/c I'll miss something about her. Most of the time I wake up mad at her b/c she'll be cheating on me. Most of the time its pretty fun dreaming about people in my past or present. So, it can be bad and good. Try something for me when you go to bed tonight repeat to yourself "I will remember my dream tonight" over and over. I read that somewhere and it's supposed to work. You guys probably think I'm a weirdo but Ive been called worse. Hope this helps.
Re: [QUAD-L] dreams
In just about every dream I have I am walking. I am hardly ever in a wheelchair. However, sometimes while I am sleep I dream that all of my body parts especially my legs begin to slowly work. I can see myself in the bed in the dark as my legs slowly rise. I am able to move them up-and-down. Then I began looking for someone to show the miracle to. And in my haste I awaken only to find out that I am still paralyzed in the same condition I was in when I went to sleep. Talking about a letdown. Any dream that I have where I am in a wheelchair, it is only to show someone that I can get up and walk. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ; quad-list@eskimo.com Sent: Monday, June 20, 2005 9:15 AM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] dreams In a message dated 6/20/2005 10:03:28 AM Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: A passing thought -- are you guys disabled in your dreams?
