Because of this Zero volume issue Craig modified Material so that the
volume icon will pulse if set to Zero but there is something playing. It
doesn't fix the

You may find that you can move an unpatched Radio from mySB to an 8

You cant move an unpatched Radio from mySB to 8 using the radio

If you have an unpatched Radio connected to 7.9.x and simply upgrade the

This sounds like interference to me. Something as simple as a micro wave
can be responsible.
Have you tried analysing your neighbours WiFi and choosing a non

If so look at your router for something akin to wireless isolation
settings and switch it off.
Wireless Device Isolation stops devices on WiFi from accessing other
devices on the network but allows internet connection.

Are there any video or DRM protected files inside the iTunes music

Spend a few $ on iPeng. It completes the eco-system in a way that no
other controller app gets close to. Highly highly recommended.

That will work for a single player but I don't think you can
Although your ISP (which one?) says there are no issues you might try
changing your DNS server settings in the router to Google's public
servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Which Router is it ? ISP provided ones are
notoriously cheap and (not so) cheerful.

Do you by any chance use iPeng to control your players (if you are an
ithingy owner you should). If so press and hold the pause button. This
allows you to set sleep on but if you already have tells how long until
sleep kicks in.

Try to get the Radio to forget the wi-fi settings altogether and then
re-create - I can't remember how its done but someone on here will know.
Alternatively try connecting the Radio to a different wi-fi network (if
you can arrange it). It could be as simple as a corrupt config or it
could be a
Sounds like a dodgy wireless connection somewhere. Does the radio work
if wired?

I have to admit that my network does consist of pro grade kit and
therefore a lot of the techniques I use aren't going to be available to
others. For example the DHCP server does not run on the router it's on
my Domain Controller - that's in inverted commas because its a Samba
Domain Controller
You would think that a static IP would connect more quickly but the
truth is it's about the same as the client machine still polls the
network for potential clashes of IP address before accepting the static
IP. It doesn't need to do this when it's DHCP as that's a continual job
of the server.
If your router supports it the best method is DHCP reservation. You tell
the DHCP server to always allocate the same IP address to your SB. It's
done by MAC address. Only decent routers support it.

Bagged a Radio in the post Xmas sales for £99 here in UK. The switch to
squeezebox process was painless so at least Logitech must have invested
some time in making it possible.
I still think SB is better than Sonos but my son has got a Sonos for
Christmas so I shall be able to properly compare
Yes you are right but you will need to switch to squeezebox from the
Advanced menu if you want it to talk to LMS on your Synology. After that
it will perform like your Touch.

have no idea why it does this, must be by design. I expect it is an
alarm clock designed especially for women as it seems to me that she
has to use the loo at least once an hour no matter what time of day or
night :)
