cassette and mtb derailler in index mode. My own experience with this didnt
work very well (and now that I’m reading, most internet advice says this won’t

tires. This was back in the day (mid '70s) of 27" wheels, full campy
grouppo, etc. I recall two things about sew-ups/tubulars:

Hmm, you must not have 9-speed Shimano bar-ends then, maybe it's 8 and that's
why you're not using the clicky side. In that case you need 9-speed but not
Advent. You can get Shimano 9 bar-ends, or this Microshift (NOT Advent).

in friction, searching around for those low gears, and knowing your fully
in them, when you just hit an unexpected steep spot can be tricky...for me.

Aside from any other compatibility issues - I believe an Advent shifter only
clicks an Advent derailer - a different bar-end is not likely to solve your
problem with getting into the largest cassette cog. Something else is
preventing your derailer from wanting to make that stretch.

The only Scottish genes I have are Scots Irish ones, greatly diluted with

On the Riv website on the Appaloosa as opposed to some other models I saw no
mention of needing a longer chain but I moved to the middle chain ring before
before chain to another gear and just have the standard chain length.

I've always been a one bike guy and my bike, a Bianchi Super Grizzly from
the early 80's, is needing to get retired. I had the crack in the
chainstay patched/fixed, the guy did such a great job, I put in an order
for a custom to replace the frame. It is essentially a fillet brazed 650b

Everyone in El Cerrito knows to watch out for the turkeys. Turkeys are

No, I haven't shared the color much, it's going to be a light-ish gray with
bright red..kind of in the original Hunqapillar mode but brightened up a bunch.

It's a SteerStopper. It is a not inexpensive way to hold the front wheel
in place. I find it especially useful when loading my bike onto my roof
rack or stowing it in our garage where, to save space, it hangs from the
rear wheel from a ceiling hook.
