[RBW] Kyoto, Grand Bois and Hetres

2015-04-09 Thread blakcloud
Today I went to Kyoto, Japan and visited Grand Bois Cycles and bought some new Hetres for my Sam and picked up spare for my wife's Betty Foy. They were on sale, so I was able to get three tires for less than $100 American! I am going to put these on my spare set of wheels that I have. Marathons

I had that same kind of moment when I first tried Hetres on my Sam. They transformed the bike that made me change my mind that tires didn't make huge differences. After a hundred kilometers if I was lucky got a slash that cut right across the casing of the tire and the tire was useless. That

From the raw bare frames on the Rivendell website, I never thought that bike had a chance of looking good. Your gf's bike proved me wrong, it look fantastic. The 26 wheels look so proportional to that bike. I am glad she likes it. Happy riding to you both and thanks for posting the photos.

I did get a call from Jerrod (sp?) saying I did not get the frame. They made a mistake and they said sorry. This is the fifth hiccup that I have experienced from RBW and I really ask myself, how much slack to you have to throw RBW before you just give up? Christopher congratulations on your

Both my wife and I have Albatross bars and we both started with bar ends. That experiment didn't last long and I switched out both bikes to Dura Ace and Paul Thumbies. Mine has the cork Ergons and hers, some cheap grips that I keep meaning to switch. We are both happy with the Thumbies. I find

Jeremy, this was a timely thread for me. I was thinking this week, outside of this group, there really isn't a place for me to read about bicycles that I like, which are the bikes you are describing. I am looking forward to the Flickr Group and more photos to peruse over. Dropped bar bikes

I agree with the others, the Sam H. will be fine for your needs. The beauty is, if you find you outgrow it and you need something different you can always sell the bike and start again. Riv's have great resale value. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups
