[rt-users] Problem with Attachments including German Umlaute in filename

2008-09-10 Thread Ham MI-ID, Torsten Brumm
Hi RT Users,
during the weeks, we got more and more reports from our users, that mails sent
to RT (RT 3.6.5) have corrupted file attachments. RT stores and displays them
as .dat file.

I've played around a little and figured out, only Files with german umlaute in
filename have this problem. I'm not sure where to start to fix this at this
moment.

as example i create a mail with the following files attached:

apple iMer.jpg - no problem
apple_iMer.jpg - no problem
apple_üMer.jpg - problem

Inside the RT History the file looks like this:

Download apple iMer.jpg [image/jpeg 7k]
Download apple_iMer.jpg [image/jpeg 7k]
Download (untitled) [name=apple_ 7k] Message body not shown because it is too
large or is not plain text.

I have really no idea at this moment where to start trouble shooting. Any help
is welcome.

Thanks

Torsten

[rt-users] Can't reinstall: CORE missing dependencies: File::ShareDir...MISSING

2008-09-10 Thread Chris Nelson
I upgraded my version of Ubuntu server to 8.0.4 because I was having some
trouble after upgrading to RT 3.8.1. I assumed that the problems had
something to do with my apache configuration or the fact that I was running
out of date software.

So, I attempted an upgrade of Ubuntu. I'm a Linux newbie. After the upgrade,
I couldn't get Apache to start at all. I found that if I commented out the
line about RT (the include in the Apache config) Apache started fine and all
other sites were working great.

So, I decided I would reinstall RT. I removed my /opt/rt3.8/ directory and
went all the way back to the install steps. I ran the tar command to get the
file to /tmp/. I then cd to /tmp/rt3-8-1/ and run 'sudo ./configure
--prefix=/opt/rt3.8/ --enable-gd'. Then I run 'sudo make testdeps'. It tells
me 'File::ShareDir...MISSING'. So, I run 'sudo make fixdeps' and it tells me
all dependencies found. Then I could get into an endless loop - because
testdeps still says it's missing.

I figured I would go ahead and just run 'sudo make install' but it bombs
with the same error as above: CORE missing dependencies:
File::ShareDir...MISSING. It's worth mentioning that I looked and the
directory /opt/rt3.8/ is not being created (I don't know if that matters or
not).

Anyway, I've taken an annoyance and managed to make a critical error out of
it - however, I've been wanting to understand Linux and RT better - so maybe
this is a blessing in disguise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[rt-users] Search for field one equal to field two

2008-09-10 Thread Kevin Squire

I have an RT system running on Debian Stable (RT from the debian repo).

I would like to have that follows the logic below - but when I tried it
in the Advance search option, I had errors - so my guess is I am
missing something and/or don't correctly understand how things work.
(my Perl and PostSQL skills come down to copy/paste with a bit of
guesstimating)

Is what I am thinking even possible? Any help with pointers/reading
material will also be appreciated.

[rt-users] Another Attachment / Mail Problem with RT 3.6.5

2008-09-10 Thread Ham MI-ID, Torsten Brumm
Hi together, it looks like a bad day for Mail/Attachments

Just a few minutes ago a user reports problems with mails he sent out via RT
webui with attachments.

OK, what i figured out so far:

1. Attachment Size: 800KB (allowed are 8000KB)
2. User added at the reply screen a list of 20 people as cc
3. The list of CC'ed People is 1250 characters long
4. RT shows the mail (Show Outgoing Mail) correctly with all Cc'ed people
5. Users get the mail totally destroyed!

Problem:

1. The CC list is cut after 994 characters, in the middle of an address
2. The rest of the people from the cc list are the first part of the body
3. The attachment is corrupted.
4. The encoding for content is incorrect, german umlaute are broken.

The body looks like this:

Re: [rt-users] Extension CommandByMail

2008-09-10 Thread Garith Dugmore

Something I've noticed with this extension is that using vcards
actually forces the extension to spew out mailgate errors. I assume the
reason being that vcards use something similar to:

something: somethingelse

cmd via mail extension doesn't like this.

I've got around this with a very bad hack by sending errors to another
email address.

Specifically this line:

my $ErrorsTo = RT::Interface::Email::ParseErrorsToAddressFromHead(
$args{'Message'}-head );

I changed this to:

my $ErrorsTo = "[EMAIL PROTECTED]";

and restarted apache.

Hope this helps someone.

One more question, to send commands by e-mail I need put the commands

Hi Reginaldo,

The config for CommandByMail goes in your RT_SiteConfig.pm file. If
you're using the standard layout, it'll be in /opt/rt3/etc.

[rt-users] Repair CachedGroupMembers? was: 3.8.1 -- Ticket Search doesn't find Requestor?

2008-09-10 Thread RT
RT Users -

After some digging, I believe I've discovered why some tickets do not
appear when searched by Requestor. It appears that some records are
missing from CachedGroupMembers.

Can anyone recommend a way of querying for the requestor from
GroupMembers and using that to populate CachedGroupMembers?
GroupMembers contains the correct requestors -- but that doesn't seem
to apply to the standard Search functions.

Here's the dirt -- I have two tickets:

* Ticket #1 -- Does not display a requestor in Simple.html and is not
found using a Requestor search, but does show a Requestor in the
Ticket View (under People).

* Ticket #26 -- Shows a requestor and is found using a Requestor search.

For Ticket #1 --

mysql select id from Groups where instance='1' and Domain =
'RT::Ticket-Role' and Type = 'Requestor';
++
| id |
++
| 52 |
++
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

mysql select MemberId from GroupMembers where GroupId = '52';
+--+
| MemberId |
+--+
|   34 |
+--+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

mysql select EmailAddress from Users where id = '34';
+--+
| EmailAddress |
+--+
| [EMAIL PROTECTED] |
+--+

However,

mysql SELECT DISTINCT t1.id Ticket_id, g2.id RoleGroup_id, g2.Type
Role_Type, cgm3.MemberId RoleMember_id, p4.PrincipalType, u5.Name FROM
Tickets t1, Groups g2, CachedGroupMembers cgm3, Principals p4, Users
u5 WHERE t1.id = 1 AND g2.Domain = 'RT::Ticket-Role' AND g2.Instance =
t1.id AND cgm3.GroupId = g2.id AND p4.id = cgm3.MemberId AND
p4.Disabled = 0 AND p4.PrincipalType = 'User' AND u5.id = p4.id;
Empty set (0.00 sec)

On ticket #26 (the ticket that is discoverable using search),

mysql SELECT DISTINCT t1.id Ticket_id, g2.id RoleGroup_id, g2.Type
Role_Type, cgm3.MemberId RoleMember_id, p4.PrincipalType, u5.Name FROM
Tickets t1, Groups g2, CachedGroupMembers cgm3, Principals p4, Users
u5 WHERE t1.id = 26 AND g2.Domain = 'RT::Ticket-Role' AND g2.Instance
= t1.id AND cgm3.GroupId = g2.id AND p4.id = cgm3.MemberId AND
p4.Disabled = 0 AND p4.PrincipalType = 'User' AND u5.id = p4.id;
+---+--+---+---+---+--+
| Ticket_id | RoleGroup_id | Role_Type | RoleMember_id | PrincipalType
| Name |
+---+--+---+---+---+--+
|26 |  521 | Requestor |   124 | User
| bubbleman |
+---+--+---+---+---+--+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

Obviously the ticket view uses something more closely related to the
initial query, and the Search functions use CachedGroupMembers.

Any help is appreciated. I've modified Googlish.pm to do a fulltext
search on Content, but that's a /really/ ugly hack.

Thanks so much!

[rt-users] 3.8.1 corrupting attachments

2008-09-10 Thread Steve Hopps
I'm having a problem with corruption as well. I had missed this
upgrade because I am running mysql 5.x so presumed it didn't apply.
I've since run the script and everything seemed to work, but of course
this is after doing the 3.8.1 upgrades. My attachments still seem to
be corrupting, any suggestions? This is the output of show create
table attachments:

Attachments CREATE TABLE `Attachments` (
 `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
 `TransactionId` int(11) NOT NULL,
 `Parent` int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
 `MessageId` varchar(160) character set ascii default NULL,
 `Subject` varchar(255) default NULL,
 `Filename` varchar(255) default NULL,
 `ContentType` varchar(80) character set ascii default NULL,
 `ContentEncoding` varchar(80) character set ascii default NULL,
 `Content` longblob,
 `Headers` longtext,
 `Creator` int(11) NOT NULL default '0',
 `Created` datetime default NULL,
 PRIMARY KEY  (`id`),
 KEY `Attachments2` (`TransactionId`),
 KEY `Attachments3` (`Parent`,`TransactionId`)
) ENGINE=InnoDB AUTO_INCREMENT=4221 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8

Quoted Text Below:

--

Shouldn't at this point, but there is a chance that later we'll have
an upgrade for some 3.8.x version that wouldn't work correct if your
DB is not changed using the script.

Could you please send us output of SHOW CREATE TABLE Attachments; SQL command?

 Upgraded 3.6.1 to 3.8.1, carefully read the docs, followed the

 job folks. Very nice.

 Logged into my new shiny RT. And all looks good.

Re: [rt-users] Repair CachedGroupMembers? was: 3.8.1 -- Ticket Search doesn't find Requestor?

2008-09-10 Thread RT
All -

I would like to get opinions on repairing my database using SQL. If
there is a more graceful way to accomplish this using the RT perl
modules (RT::CachedGroupMembers, etc) any help is appreciated.

From the RT Essentials book (http://is.gd/2rG6), we find that in
CachedGroupMembers:

id == any incremental value
GroupId == requestor group id
MemberId == MemberId in question (requestor)
Via == usually equal to the CachedGroupMembers id
ImmediateParentId == requestor group id
Disabled == 0

I'm going to work from the values in Ticket #1 (see previous message).

insert into CachedGroupMembers values ('', '52', '34', '', '52', '0');

** And Voila! ** The requestor appears in the regular Search as
expected, and is searchable by requestor in Query Builder.

And here is what it looks like in the end:

mysql select * from CachedGroupMembers where GroupId='52' and
MemberId='34' and ImmediateParentId='52';
+---+-+--+--+---+--+
| id| GroupId | MemberId | Via  | ImmediateParentId | Disabled |
+---+-+--+--+---+--+
| 81550 |  52 |   34 |0 |52 |0 |
+---+-+--+--+---+--+

Should the Disabled status be pulled from Principals? (select Disabled
from Principals where id = '34')

Any opinions on making these modifications is appreciated.

ImmediateParentId = requestor group id
Disabled = 0

I'm going to work from the values in Ticket #1 (see previous message).

insert into CachedGroupMembers values ('', '52', '34', '', '52', '0');

** And Voila! ** The requestor appears in the regular Search as
expected, and is searchable by requestor in Query Builder.

And here is what it looks like in the end:

mysql select * from CachedGroupMembers where GroupId='52' and
MemberId='34' and ImmediateParentId='52';
+---+-+--+--+---+--+
| id| GroupId | MemberId | Via  | ImmediateParentId | Disabled |
+---+-+--+--+---+--+
| 81550 |  52 |   34 |0 |52 |0 |
+---+-+--+--+---+--+

Should the Disabled status be pulled from Principals? (select Disabled
from Principals where id = '34')

Any opinions on making these modifications is appreciated.

2008-09-10 Thread RT
Thanks so much for the response! It is very much appreciated.

How did it end up there was no record in CachedGroupMembers? To be honest, I
don't know. I inherited this RT database from someone else, and I believe
they made a number of changes blindly via SQL.

I sincerely appreciate your help. I apologize for the multiple posts -- my
messages weren't appearing in the list archive, so I assumed they weren't
going out to the list. If list members received multiples, I apologize
profusely!

Hopefully this will help others should they find CachedGroupMembers missing
records.

  1. The CC list is cut after 994 characters, in the middle of an

Re: [rt-users] Search for field one equal to field two

2008-09-10 Thread Kenneth Crocker
Kevin,

I believe you are trying to compare fields that are not defined the
same. LastUpdatedBy is a numeric field and contains the ID of the user,
not the email address. The numeric field will not compare to a character
field. Two different types of data. You need to take the UserID from
LastUPdatedBy and get the emailaddress of that user and then compare
it to the Requestor Emailaddress. The LastUpdated IS the same type as
Created, so that compare is OK. Hope this helps.

Re: [rt-users] Repair CachedGroupMembers? was: 3.8.1 -- Ticket Search doesn't find Requestor?

2008-09-10 Thread Kenneth Crocker
To whomever (can't find name in address),

There might be a way IF the person that created the ticket is always
the requestor. IF so, you could walk thru the TICKETS table and take
every CREATOR and check to see if there is a MemberID for that CREATOR
in the CACHEDGROUPMEMBERS Table for the ticket created. IF not, then you
could re-establish the link via CLI OR you could do it manually using
WebUI by printing out a list of those Tickets/Creators and using that
list to go to each affected ticket and remove/add the correct requestor.
I would not recommend re-creating the records with SQL because there may
be ACL issues, etc that RT would normally take care of, hence using CLI.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope this helps.

[rt-users] Adding comments using REST and form post, how?

2008-09-10 Thread Jon Langseth
I am working on a tool that, for varoius reasons, need to use the
web-available REST interface for its operations. I am currently pulling
hairs, due to the fact that all examples I am able to find on using
REST, refers to using Perl and the RT::Client:REST module or
variations..

I am perfectly able to do a POST request on
  https://rtserver/REST/1.0/edit
with ContentType: form-data and the follwing POST data:

id: ticket/12345
status: open
owner: newowner
priority: 3

.. and thus changing ticket 12345 from a new ticket, with owner
Nobody and priority '' to the new values (open/newowner/3)

What I am now trying to achieve, is adding transactions, i.e. adding a
comment to the ticket, and I hope to be able to do this using the
REST interface over HTTP or HTTPS, as I do not have the option of doing
this using Perl-code or CLI.

Can anyone help me add Comments or Correspondence to RT tickets
using HTTP POST forms?

Re: [rt-users] Problem with 'Top N tickets' links on 'RT at a glance' page in 3.8.1

2008-09-10 Thread David Good
I looked into this some more and after some debugging, I see that the
query string argument ($Query) passed in
to Search/Results.html is URI encoded when it shouldn't be. It looks
like it's encoded properly in the link URL
when I 'View Souce' on the displayed 'Home' page but never gets decoded
(or it gets decoded and re-encoded
somehow). Does anyone have any ideas where I should look next?

I'm kinda surprised that there haven't been any other reports of this
sort of problem. It seems to affect all saved searches.
We're running RT 3.8.1 on a CentOS 5.2 with perl 5.10.0.

David Good wrote:
 I'm seeing an odd problem with the 'Top N tickets' links ('N highest
 priority tickets I own' and '10 newest unowned tickets') on the 'RT at a

 show up as they should but when I click on the link for the search (i.e.
 click on the '10 highest priority tickets I own' link) I get a 'Found 0
 tickets' page. When I click on the 'Edit Search' link, it kicks me into
 'Advanced' and I get an error in the 'Results' section:

 Wrong query, expecting a OPERATOR in

 And the text in the Query textbox is similarly URI-escaped. If I fix it
 manually and click 'Apply' I then get the Edit Search page and if I
 click the Update format and Search button on that page I then get the
 results I was expecting. But if I then go back to the Home page and try
 the same link again I get the same problem.

 The really odd thing is that the 'Bookmarked Tickets' link on the 'RT at
 a glance' page works fine.

 Here is the link URI for the 'N highest priority tickets I own' link:

[rt-users] Email works for AutoReply, and Forwarding but not Resolve or Reply

2008-09-10 Thread Janice Myint
Working on RT 3.8.0 with a fresh install. Everything seems to be
working like a creating a ticket, change status etc. However, when I
change the update type to Reply to Requestors, no email is sent, even
though the autoreply and forward emails work. Seems like a config
issue but I can't seem to find out where to set it. Looking for any
advice on where to look.

Re: [rt-users] Fedora Core 9 versus Ubuntu

 Just an FYI email...

 We have been using RT 3.6 for a year now. A few months ago we upgraded to
 3.8 and ever since the performance on certain actions has been painful. In
 my opinion it is related to perl, not mysql. Sometimes I can submit a
 comment using the web interface and I will get the email before the screen
 refreshes.

 So, on a whim I installed the latest version of Ubuntu and copied the
 database over. Oddly enough RT screams! So, I am going to start using
 Ubuntu instead of Fedora.

 If anyone wants more details, I can do some version comparisons and such.

Does anyone know if this is the problem:
http://blog.vipul.net/2008/08/24/redhat-perl-what-a-tragedy/
It would affect Centos5.2 as well.

Re: [rt-users] Email works for AutoReply, and Forwarding but not Resolve or Reply

2008-09-10 Thread Gene LeDuc
Hi Janice,

If the person creating the transaction is the requestor, then by default RT
will not Reply (even if the selected action is Reply to Requestor); that
seems to be one of the main differences between Autoreply and Reply. If
your case is not one where the requestor is the transaction creator, then
this doesn't apply to you. Otherwise... You can change this behavior by
setting the NotifyActor variable in your RT_SiteConfig file:
   Set($NotifyActor, 1);

Regards,
Gene

[rt-users] Upgraded RT and Ubuntu and now Apache2 can't find RT::Mason

2008-09-10 Thread Chris Nelson
I'm a Linux newbie. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 (I just upgraded from 7.0.4). I
am running RT 3.8.1 (I just upgraded from 3.6). I happen to be running
TikiWiki on this server and it's working just fine (so, at least I know that
Apache is working - and the server is serving Web pages in general).

My Apache2 error log shows that it can't find RT::Mason.

I noticed that my old apache config referenced a file 'webmux.pl' - which
didn't exist in /opt/rt3.8/bin/ and did exist in
/etc/request-tracker3.6/bin/. So, I copied the file to /opt/rt3.8/bin and
updated the Apache Config to reference the new file location.

So, if I comment out the webmux.pl line in the Apache config - I get a 404
error. If I leave it in, I get a 500 Internal Server error.

I feel like I've been very high maintenance with this upgrade. I can't tell
you all how extremely helpful you've been! Thanks all,
-Chris
