That demo you mentioned is no longer supported.
A better and simpler approach would be to use the sfc103 demo located in
the SFC source code in sfc-demo/sfc103. There is a README file there with
instructions on how to use it.

The created-rendered-path API is indeed no longer supported. That API
created the RSP (Rendered Service Path, which is the actual service chain),
but now the RSP gets created when the SFP (Service Function Path) is
created.

I will be reviewing the Non-NSH blueprint today
- I asked them to add a link the Netvirt Non-NSH classifier, and vice-versa.
I would like to remove the deprecated RSP RPCs now in Fluorine.

The SFC code is now frozen for the Oxygen release. Refer to the M4
milestone report [0] for details.
That means from now on, the only changes allowed will be for BUG (JIRA)
fixes. If you need to fix a BUG for the SFC Oxygen release, please first

The entire ODL project will start merging the version bump patches today.
The patch for SFC is here [0].
You may experience some verify/CSIT failures until all the patches are

There is an SFC Karaf feature that is being built and can be installed
called sfc_test_consumer. But it doesnt really do anything. Does anybody
ever use it?
For now, I disabled the feature in this patch [0]. If nobody replies, I may
just delete the entire sfc_test_consumer directory and code.

At one point the folks from Ericsson had plans for load balancing across
service functions once the logical service function forwarder was
implemented.
They are no longer contributing to SFC, so I don't know of any concrete
plans to implement a load balancer.

I just updated the instructions for installing Yi Yang's "OVS with NSH"
patches on the ODL SFC Wiki [0].
The approach to install with OVS 2.6.90 is preferred. I just tried it on an
Ubuntu 16.04 VM and it worked without any problems. According to Yi Yang,

Looks like its because it cant find the OpendaylightSfc class. We removed
that class and announced it in this email [0].
The GBP project had a similar problem that was fixed in this patch [1],
which depending on how you're using the OpendaylightSfc class may help you

I didn't know that cardinal, nic, and faas officially depended on sfc. Nic
and faas mentioned possibly using sfc in the past, but we were never
notified officially.
