I am looking at installing a fax server, can anyone give me any
suggestions on the best application for the job? at the moment
Hylafax seems to be ok even though it requires mgetty.

(What is the problem with requiring mgetty? Hylafax supplies its own
components for
Hylafax doesn't use mgetty - it probably can, but you are much better off
with faxgetty that comes with it.
easily the best choice tho.
make sure you get a recent version.

SnapGear devices run Linux and, AFAIK, use Freeswan.

The error message I get during boot time follows:

I have run Smoothwall with Internode although I now use ClarkConnect, but
each to his own and your choice is as personal as your choice of GNU/Linux
distribution.
Now to your problems I agree with Dave Filtch you seem to have username
password problems. Check that you are putting in the

IIRC the initrd is built on the fly when the kernel is installed. Thus it will
only load the modules it needs
I used the `--with=raid1` parameter when creating the ramdisk. Obviously
I've left out other required driver modules (prob. SCSI)

LVD drives will work single ended with a UW cable and the addition of a
SE/LVD terminator.
The terminator is not needed with single ended drives, so if you

limited to 40MB/s, rather than what it's spec'd to run on (Ultra2 (80MB/s),
