Hi digimaster and all,
post #855 is helpful a well!
Still one question (a stupid one, I guess!): How can I access and edit
the QLMS.conf file? Is that also done within a SSH session? If yes, how
do I do it?
All the best
Stefan
Hello digimaster,
I just found your QLMS help file some pages back in post #835 I guess
there I should find all the support I need. Thanks a lot!
Best regards

Dear digimaster,
I hope you had a mild course and recover 100%!
I guess I have to downgrade LMS to a recent stable version

It might turn out to be a struggle for me as well... Of course I would
have preferred all files would have come in with owner 999 and

Last weekend I copied some new albums into the music folder my NAS.
Connecting with Cyberduck showed that

Some of the newly added tracks had owner 999 (squeezeboxserver), some
owner 1000 (me) none of them appeared in LMS. All of those tracks that

I tried some things this afternoon.
First I took a look at my music folder via Cyberduck (an SFTP client
available for Mac):

I realized that for most albums the owner was set to 999, but for some -
all of them among the newly added albums I was missing, but still not
all of them - were
Hi digimaster,
thanks for the help file!
What does "ACL" mean in the last paragraph? You know I have some trouble
with scanning my library at the moment. If you'd like to look over it I
have posted my log files here:
After that I switched off all plugins and after restarting LMS I tried
again to rescan but without success: All new added music is still not
present in LMS.
Here are the server and scanner log files I downloaded afterwards:

Following the advices in the last post of digimaster I did the
following:

Well, seems I was a bit too optimistically:
Yesterday I added a number of new albums to my library and performed the
usual "delete-and-rescan" procedure. The result is that LMS shows all
albums that had been there before but none of the newly added. I
re-checked if the files are really present

This is what I performed at the end of last year:
First:
[ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ]
[ rm -R SlimServer/ ]
[ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh start ]
[ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop ]
[ rm -r SlimServer/Cache ], [ rm -r SlimServer/prefs ]
Then:
[ cp -RP /share/*/Multimedia/prefs
I did:
[/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] #
./QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop
Stopping LogitechMediaServer [10999] in the Background.
[/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] #
./QLogitechMediaServer.sh clean
use ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh start, stop, status, restart,

Great, many thanks to both of you! There seem to be even more beneath
Filezilla that can do it: Cyberduck, Transmit, Fugu, muCommander... I'll
check this evening and report back!

Ok I see, WinSCP actually looks much more common for me than executing
command lines in terminal. Unfortunately I'm on a Mac and can't use
WinSCP. Is there anything comparable for Mac users?

Hello, thanks for guiding me. My problem is that I'm not in command of

Hello,
I hope it is ok to post my specific question here, even though it is a
bot off topic but I'm quite confident that if anywhere, here is the
place where I might find some help among you
QLogitechMediaServer-experts.
I have QLogitechMediaServer 2.04.00 with LMS 7.9.2 running on a QNAP
Hello Michael,
ok, the cache folder location in settings/information menu is listed
beneath what in the german version is named as
"Zwischenspeicher-Ordner", right? So that was really easy.
I was hoping digimaster might help (I asked him) as he naturally knows
best about QNAP and LMS. But I
Hi Michael,
thanks for your thoughts!
My first problem actually is to find the location of the LMS cache
folder. Any idea where I would find it on a QNAP NAS? Unfortunately
QNAP's file station, which is the app to manage the files on the NAS,
keeps all apps and app related data (as well as
Well I managed to download the server log file. Here is what it says for

because it's too long)
While being completely ignorant of these lines, I'd say this one caught
my attention:

Possibly this is an important detail, that just re-entered my mind:
After I started the rescan I switched through the tabs of the LMS
settings menu. It then suddenly froze and no matter which tab I clicked,
the sreen remained the same. Thus I went to QNAP app center, stopped

Hello,
I have QLogitechMediaServer 2.04.00 with LMS 7.9.2 running on a QNAP NAS

Hello,
I'm facing the same problem: After upgrading to 2.09.01 QLMS won't start
anymore.
Does downgrading to 2.04 mean to simply do a manual install using the
corresponding 2.04 qpkg? Are all individual LMS settings kept alive that
way?
Thanks
Stefan
Sorry for the unnecessary post I ignored the golden rule to always
read before posting!
With the help of some postings before I did:
[~] # cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer/

[/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] #
After restarting LMS all works
I upgraded from QTS 4.3.5 to the most recent QTS 4.3.6.0805 and after
that upgraded QLogitechMediaServer to 2.03.03 from the app center;
unfortunately LMS isn't working anymore this is on a TS451-A which is
x86/x86_64, isn't it? Any advice, what to do?
Great, this worked perfectly!
Thanks a lot for your guidance and patience!

So as a whole it would be like this:
First:
[ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ]
[ rm -R SlimServer/ ]
[ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh start ]
[ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop ]
[ rm -r SlimServer/Cache ], [ rm -r SlimServer/prefs ]
[ cp -RP /share/*/Multimedia/prefs SlimServer/ ], [ cp -RP
Hi digimaster,
I tried to assemble the info you gave directly and those you linked me
to would you mind looking over it to see if I got it right:
First:
[ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer ]
[ rm -R SlimServer/ ]
[ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh start ]
[ ./QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop ]
[ rm

Hi digimaster,
yes I understand that these are the backups of the old
The folders "Cache" and "prefs" (which were created in the very first
steps) are located in "Multimedia" I think this is where they are
supposed to be, isn't it?

Thanks again!

http://192.168.178.65:9001 !

But in the end I'm still there with a naked LMS to be set up ;-(((
Any idea what might be the reason?
Great! That worked.
Unfortunately the next step seems to fail:
./QLogitechMediaServer.sh stop

Hi digimaster,
I still had the very first version of QLogitechMediaServer running on my

I'm not firm with terminal commands at all, but I followed your
instructions in posting #2 of this thread (the
