I see it sometimes when I play a long mp3 that is split up virtually
using a .cue file
When it happens, if I click Next track then it starts playing the track

DTS Play-Fi is a proprietary protocol and, as far as I can find, has not
been implemented by any open source ... which would make it hard to
incorporate into LMS.
LMS could act as a source through its support of UPnP-AV.

I have no personal experience but given that DTS advocates using the
home LAN as an alternative to WiFi for their kit then I would expect it
to co-exist - in that the traffic can be shared across the LAN -

The one with the screen is probably controlling Jivelite - which handles
such input directly.
Squeezelite is a different beast so using TriggerHappy to detect the
