Not at all. That's the goal :-).
Ok, some of the packages are smaller because newer versions of the
packagers apply improved compression. So you'd potentially get faster
downloads. That's all the impact I you'd see.
Not being a computer wiz I am wondering how this impacts the average
person ? I currently run LMS 7.9.0 and it works just fine.
Is there something one needs to do ?
Thanks for your work Michael !

I don't know Michael, next time there is an update I'll try running the
code you referenced earlier and see what happens.
I migth be wrong again ( as for the need tp stop , we been told in the
past that you should)
But no other UI than the WEB UI is currently aware of server updates.

And updating from a SSH session would work?

Well of course I don't have a solution, when did I

You said in your first post that you run the Mac-mini headless, in a
subsequent post, that it is connected to a TV and you use Jivelite for
control.
Much more useful information in the latter post.

I tried with the latest server version (which was already installed,
btw). I seemed to work, but the server wouldn't re-start. Either
command-line or GUI. I had to restart the computer, which solved the
problem.

It's not a matter of time. Just trying to automate things.
For one thing, I am running Jivelite full-screen on the same Mac Mini,

Once again, thanks a lot Michael for the tremendous work you are doing
for the community of users.
A question concerning OS X, rather than the Linux flavors you are
worried about.
I have LMS server running on a headless Mac Mini. The only way I have to
update LMS is to VNC into the server and cl

Thanks guys! One more change I tentatively applied to the platform
specific deb packages (i386/arm/amd64): I removed binaries for the
rather old Perl 5.8 and 5.10. Please let me know if that causes
problems.

Thank you very much! So the only difference I'm seeing (besides the
newly added files for ARMv7/8 support) is that in the new package images

Can you give me the the filename of the last .deb build using the 'old'

I'm in the process of migrating the build environment for Logitech Media
Server to a totally new system. The change hopefully will be transparent
to you.
Recent Mac builds already run on this new system, as the old Mac build
host died a few weeks ago. There should be no surprise here.
