Hi
I've been using 7.8.0 for a quite some time now under Windows 10. To
start it was a bit flaky in terms of starting up. But a right click,
Run as Administrator and selecting the Run at System Start option has
worked flawlessly for well over 6 months.
In the last few days this option has
No I haven't. I'd like to understand why 7.8.0 isn't working anymore
than simply jump to a nightly build.

Log...
Name = the name I've replaced in the log files so as to be able to
attach it here...
Can you see anything wrong in here please?
Many thanks.

Okay, new log attached after the LMS failed again this morning.
Beginning to think this down to a new alarm setting I've created for our
bedroom as LMS stops running a few minutes after that alarm goes off???
I can also access the web just fine from a browser on the server. And
it gets Windows

Random selection of music from my server.
'plantor'? What's that

I've now un-ticked the options to index photo's and videos but it still
crashes after an alarm goes off. It's
Hi
I've had this issue before where an alarm being triggered shuts down the
LMS server. This was found to be caused by a number of 3rd party
plugins that were enabled from an earlier install.
But this issue has returned in 7.9.0. Trouble is I can't actually get
to see what plugins are enabled
Unfortunately it doesn't. I've used that in the past and then
reinstalled only to find that it remembers some settings from the
previous installation.

I'll give it a go but I'm not at all confident this will work. Do you
know if anything gets written to the registry that needs manual
deletion?

Hi
I can set an alarm to play a Random track on any of my units and within
a minute or so of the alarm triggering, the LMS local service stops.
Any ideas?
Cheers.

As it happens I have no use of that plugin at all. The server is on
24/7 doing stuff for most of that time. So it's never been setup to use
any kind of power saving.
All the plugins I have are simply those that came with any installation
of LMS. This server started life with Windows 10 Pro
Oooo, you might be on for a gold star!
Set a test alarm and all is still working :-)
Real test comes tomorrow morning, but looking much more promising.
Why is that plug-in still in the list when this was a fresh install of
7.9.0 though?

Does LMS use Perl?
I'm getting this error in my event viewer log. See attached.

Yeah, sorry. To see that I had to right click and Save as, then blow up
the screenshot to read it too. How do I stop it posting images
in-line?
Anyway. Error txt attached.

Hi Folks
My LMS installation has suddenly just started asking for username and
password when attempting to run the LMS control panel icon on the
desktop. I've never used a password???
This comes off the back of another issue with the server just shutting
down at around 10:30/11pm for no
Cheers.
Well I guess I've stopped forwarding my ports as I've deleted all port
forwarding :-)
What do I edit in the server.prefs file please?

Value, or label too? Because I've removed the value that was in there "
YY3N+wzZrkSBFklhxHlt2OOTDI0", but running the control panel still
prompts for username and password.
Trying first by removing the label, then I'll remove the server.prefs
file altogether and recreate my settings if that
Yup checked all folders were gone both from ProgramData and ProgramFiles
(x86) is it? Anyway no signs of Squeezbox or Logitech. Even ran a
search for *.prefs and nothing. I didn't check the registry though.
Z:\Music is not naturally a default folder, hence my wondering how the
software is
Okay then. The standard Windows 10 uninstall routine did remove
everything folder wise. It asks at the end of the process if you wish
to delete preferences, logs etc.
But installing from fresh again proves two failings:-
1. The common settings found in the web UI & the Control Panel aren't
Have since managed to access 'Server Settings' from the basic Web UI
from another machine on my network and the recent install has re-enabled
all the plugins that were previously disabled. Arrggg!
Even so, having disabled them all yet again, the server still shuts down
after an alarm triggers
Spoke too soon.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\SqueezeTray.exe" --start
Still being screwed by Microsoft. Won't allow it to be run as
administrator.

I got the update prompt a couple of days ago to go to 7.9.3 but since
