I'm not sure, I will have to think about it.

Meanwhile, can you copy&paste one of your filters to take a look?
Because unless there is something in your filters that makes me change
my mind, I think my approach to do what you are doing would be to create
a single (and probably more complex) Incoming filter, or perhaps a
simple on that would move all virus reports to a single physical folder
and then create virtual folders for each virus.

Similar, but not exactly like. If you Alt+click on an "I love TB's IMAP"

search for IMAP and hit enter, you will get those messages and also
those that may have "I'm pissed off with TB's IMAP" as a subject. :)

In view modes you can select Memo as one of the columns to be displayed
in the message list and just make it, like I do, wide enough to show the
first couple of characters of the memo. Since I am the only one writing
memos in my TB, I make sure to not start them with blanks (actually I
always use two stars ** to start them) so I will easily see if a memo is
blank or not. See attached PNG.

I see that my assumption in my reply to Roelof was correct. As I wrote:

,- [ In Maxim wrote:]
| [*] Reply to a message from a common folder now tries to find suitable
| account using TO addresses
`-

Notice the "tries to find" which, to me, means it is not guaranteed it
will find it.

As a side comment, I don't use Common folders at all because I have
never seen the real advantage of using them. And I have always wondered
why many (you are just one of them) move messages from different
accounts to common folders and then want (actually 'request') that if
you reply to a message in a Common folder the reply should use the
Account (and therefor From) where the message was received.

I may be blind but, where do you guys see the advantage of using Common
folders? If I had the need to show or 'manage' in a single folder
messages from different accounts that had something in common (let's say
from the banks I use) I would use a Common *Virtual* folder. That way,
messages would still reside in the account they were received, and
proper account and From address would *always* be used even if you
replied from the Common *Virtual* folder.

You can delete them all in Options/Preferences/Address History and

While your wish is implemented, or not, you may want to try this manual
only filter I have, only triggered with a Hotkey (Ctrl+9 in my case), as
(the base for) an easy workaround:

 TB! Message Filter
beginFilter
UID: [2FD48406.01C971B2.1AE9CFD3.345A5F24]
Name: EditMSG
Filter: {\0D\0A\20`21\0D\0A}
ExportMessage OverwriteExist FmtRFC822 filename
G:\5CThe\20Bat\5Cedit\5Cmsg_edit.msg filenamerelative
G:\5CThe\20Bat\5Cedit\5Cmsg_edit.msg
RunExternal Wait CmdLine
Notepad.exe\20\22G:\5CThe\20Bat\5Cedit\5Cmsg_edit.msg\22 folder
\5C\5CMAU\5CInbox
RunExternal CmdLine
thebat.exe\20/IMPORTU\3D\22MAU\22;IN\3D\22G:\5CThe\20Bat\5Cedit\5Cmsg_edit.msg\22
IsManual
IsActive
IsHotkey
IsHotkeyOnly
Ignore
endFilter

What it does is: It exports the currently selected message to a .MSG file
which is then opened in Notepad for editing. Once editing is completed
and I save changes and exit Notepad, the edited message is imported into
Inbox.

If you copy it and paste it in your Sorting Office, you will have to to
assign your own Hotkey, and in filter actions change the MAU account
name and the full path to the .msg file.

HTH :)

Your rogue :Kr_bat: is in the gallery as file Kr_bat.jpg dated

And your X-Rogue: :Kr_bat: header is correct and works fine, there is no

exported your message to a .msg file, edited it and deleted the

If your philosophy is to keep TMP files for 31 days just in case the
user needs to re-import something (as you explain in another message),
and if you can accept a suggestion, I think then that TB should use its
own and specific TEMP directory. As far as I know, the idea about %TEMP%
is that any application using it should delete, before exiting, any
files generated and used during execution. In any case, if something is
left behind, it should always be safe for the user to delete anything in
%TEMP% (while no application is running, of course).

Just a thought :)

Did you use an HTML folder template? Because if you inserted the image
directly in the editor, it works fine. It is in templates where the full
path is used.

Search for 'Zune XP theme' Images (not the web) and you will get more
sample views that you are perhaps willing to look at.

I have to correct myself once again. I still think it is a bug but not

'My images' in Spanish is 'Mis imágenes', with an accented "a".

It IS a bug and the problem is the length of the path to the inserted
image. I was trying to insert the JPG from 'My images' and the actual
path to it is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\My documents\My images\my.jpg

I have copied the image to my TEMP, which is in my D drive, and the path
is now: D:\Temo\my.jpg

And it works!!!

Peter, can you verify that?

I will not say this is a showstopper for tomorrow's release, but I am
quite sure that inserting an image in this way is something many people
will try to do around Xmas and New Year.

Including an image in HTML templates

2008-12-22 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I hardly use HTML at all and that is why I have done very little testing
with HTML templates and QTs, and haven't paid much attention to messages
about these issues.

Today I'm trying to make up a template (or QT) for Xmas greeting message
which includes a small JPG and I can't get it to work. The image is
displayed in template editor window when I insert the image and the
preview shows a frame (box) with the size of the image. However,
when I try to use the template or QT no image is inserted and if I open
again the template editor, the inserted image doesn't show either.

Is this a known bug or limitation, or am I doing something wrong?

TIA.

I know it works, that's why I use it :)

> but why do i have to exclude that there is no TO set in a new Mail?

What was happening to you is an example of why, but I'll give another
example.

Assume this was my new message template for my TBBeta folder:

,- [ ]
| Hello all,%TO="tbbeta@thebat.dutaint.com"
|
| %Cursor
|
|
`-

If while reading your message I want to write to you by PM (new message,
not reply), I would right click on the From field in the headers pane
and select 'Write a Message to This Address' from context menu. The new
message window (editor) opens and... what do I have in the To: field?

This: Jens Franik , tbbeta@thebat.dutaint.com

Why? Because I selected your address and because the folder template
include the list address. Which is correct because as Thomas wrote to
you in this same thread, "The %TO macro adds an address to the TO
field".

Now, if my TBBeta folder template is as I have it:

,- [ ]
| Hello all,%IF:'%TOADDR'='':'%TO="tbbeta@thebat.dutaint.com"'
|
| ...
`-

When I select your name in the From field and select 'Write a Message to
This Address', I only get 'Jens Franik ' in the To field
of the new message because the folder template 'sees' that the To field
is NOT empty and does NOT add the tbbeta address.

This is my way of trying to avoid unintentionally sending PM to a list
because of folder templates.

Installed (only Core) and running.

Two little issues:

1.- My 'Add or Remove programs' in Control Panel shows two (2) entries for
TB v4.1. I am not sure now if there was only one before this last
installation, or not. I should have verified.

Aside of that, there is a little difference between the two entries as
you can see in attached PNGs. The first one shows 'used occasionally'
and the date of last time used, and the second one shows as 'hardly
ever' used and no date.

2.- I always do a Custom installation to only install Core and no
multilingual interface nor dictionaries. As I can recall from the 'n'
last installations, when I select Custom, the Multilingual Interface and
Dictionaries were always Xed (unselected for installation). No big deal
but this time I had to X them.
