Screen redraws on startup

With this beta (and the previous release version) I get a very messy startup of TB. The splash screen apears, then a window frame, this is then cleared and redrawn with some widgets, this gets cleared again and it starts again. Horrible! Anyone confirm? -- Graham

Why so slow?
