MM downgrade to one of previous builds, where there were no changes in work

How do I know whether there were any changes with sockets? I cannot

Checking a payment received message from paypal, an https link does
appear in the CC and remain for a couple of seconds. The status
changes to error and the link disappears. It looks like TB is not able
to download the information, which does not appear to be a graphic,

I don't need IMAP. But this fix would be really nice for my daily

beta testing if a small but annoying bug is declared to be fixed but I
have to wait for a much bigger issue which I'm not interested in. The

Why not just copy the new code for the ConCenter into beta 4.2.33.7

From a marketing point-of-view, i.e. keeping the beta testers happy,
if would be good to release a beta with this fix before completing the
major task.

All of the above is just my opinion. Others might see that differently
and prefer to wait a long time and then have a hundred new things to
test at the same time, and discover that another hundred old things
don't work any more. I myself prefer smaller steps, more beta versions
with small fixes. We don't need guarantees that it has been fixed, we
need to test it. Point in case: Even though it has been fixed on your
computer, it hasn't been fixed on mine!

The question posted in the subject line still stands: When are we
going to get the fix?

I won't download the first beta with the IMAP changes, I'll leave that

IAW I have just uploaded the HTML code of an offending message. Now

I am a little bit disappointed that Ritlabs has not bothered to answer
after such a long time.

Each time I close TB!, I get the dialog that so many downloads are
being processed, and do I wish to close them within 60 seconds? I
always change that to 2 seconds, and that is acceptable in a beta
version that is being worked on. But I would hope that they really
*are* working on it, and I have no indication so far that they are.

I see there that they are working on IMAP. I don't see any
communication with their beta community over here.

For me, I have an annoying issue for the past two weeks. One that
didn't exist before. This beta list consists of paying users, not paid
beta testers. What I request is communication. (I do miss 9Val.)

Ritlabs could acknowledge the bug and say, it will be fixed in two
weeks so please wait, because we are now working on IMAP. They do no
such thing, they just keep quiet.

Happy beta testing, everybody. I enjoy the feeling of being completely
ignored.

I understand You. As I know, problem with tasks should be fixed, there were
changes in working with sockets and we were discussing 4.2.35 release with
this bugfix, which was not realised because another bug.

Well, I think this is a big thing for Ritlabs, and as usual, it's
going to be good. However, and I want to stress this again, *please
communicate with your beta testers*. It doesn't feel good if we think
we are ignored, just keep updating us on what you are doing.

Certainly, this is a Marketing issue.

2010-03-11 Thread Bob Riley

Hi Marek,

Thank you for this update - I had noticed like everyone else that all
is quiet on the Western Front (you know that book, I suppose). Your
communication below helped.

On 3/11/2010 8:28 AM, you wrote to Thomas:

I can't imagine how large a task that IMAP development is.

Ritlabs could acknowledge the bug and say, it will be fixed in
two weeks so please wait, because we are now working on IMAP. They
do no such thing, they just keep quiet.

I agree with Thomas on that.

I understand You. As I know, problem with tasks should be fixed,

4.2.35 release with this bugfix, which was not realised because
 another bug.

But the Bat team members are not Supermen, either, even if some read
the works of Nietszche.

Thanks again for your communication here - and to Thomas, for raising
the communications concern.

Peace to all here. I soon will be back with using The Bat and trying
out the new IMAP module.

BTW, I will add that, while I have been using Thunderbird 3.03 because
of its good IMAP support, it is simply not as flexible or powerful as
The Bat, and with this last couple of releases, it may crash at times
(something I rarely ever saw with any of my versions of TB).

For me, it's not an issue of an offending mail. It's an issue of a
routing access glitch. I have a firmware fault in my router that
sometimes drop DNS queries through the floor and fails to resolve a
server IP.

The point is, any failure in access to any online image sources for
whatever reason will result in this problem.
