Hello. A while back I talked about wanting to help trisquel. After a few
personal problems, I think I am ready to help now.
As Magic Banana suggested I read

Advice For New Users On Not Breaking Their Debian System
Don't blindly remove software
Sometimes when you remove a package, the package manager needs to remove
other packages too. This is because the additional packages depend on the
package you're trying to remove.
Again please do not do this.
Purge removes too much, usually not only the package but things that depend
on the package so it will break your system by getting rid of too much stuff.
You probably won't be able to boot into your Desktop Environment.
You can remove config files of pulseaudio
please do not do "sudo apt purge pulseaudio"
purge can remove too much and break your system.
you are probably joking, but i strongly advice against this, for one "purge"
can remove too much and break the system, but also PulseAudio is required for
sound on things like firefox, I don't know if Abrowser requires it but
removing pulseaudio can cause even more trouble.
I don't follow, What does 4.4 has anything to do here? 13 is way after 4樂
If there is a libre program on github and you want to contribute and it will
help the freedom of more users I would recommend you to use it.
You can always ask, in a kind and polite way, to the maintainers to change to
gitlab or something else. Many projects are migrating from github to
IIRC pulseaudio requires systemd so that solution wouldn't work so easily :/

He said something like it should not be too hard, Parabola uses Debian
packages, so helping Parabola is learning to package stuff for Debian,
removing non-free dependencies and building the package on Trisquel.

If I remember correctly there is a terminal in the installer where you can
see everything that is happening.
Though, it goes no fast you might not even be able to read it.
If you really want thin kind of behavior you might as well go with parabola
to really learn. Trisquel is not meant for

1.- Congratulations... I am proud of you..
2.- You can take a look at Musix or Ubuntu Studio most of the software, if
not all, that is installed there is also in the Trisquel repos so you can
install it with apt-get.
However, I suggest going with parabola for most up to date
The best DE is no DE, I suggest you move to i3wm :) loool nah just kidding
guys, congratulations for your excellent work. Uruk is awesome.
1.- You can select what files or directories to sync with wich device. But
fair enough I haven't use samba. As I thought it was meant to share with
windows and, fortunately we get cidmof windows in my house :)
2.- That depends on your configuration, you can backup everything.
3.- If you
I won't suggest SSH because:
1.- Too much work to autome sync between multiple devices
1b.- Syncthing already does this.
2.- No protection against removing files.
2b.- syncthing automatically saves several copies and previous versions of
files.
3.- If you do SSH you can't share files. You
Syncthing.
Syncthing replaces proprietary sync and cloud services with something open,
trustworthy and decentralized. Your data is your data alone and you deserve
to choose where it is stored, if it is shared with some third party and how
it's transmitted over the Internet.
If you really don't want to lose your windows partition that is fine.
If you have the money you can buy a clean HDD or SDD and put trisquel there.
I kinda don't want you to because I see you have 2 HDD and one SSD and space
more than enough.
But you said those disks are important and I
It looks like Trisquel wasn't installed. I bet because disk space was to
small. Maybe if you don't care about Windows and you don't have any data that
you care about on the SSD you can just wipe it and install Trisquel
forgetting about Windows for good :)
I don't think that we should call garbage a program that is recommended a lot
by a lot of people, projects and even big companies like Canonical and Red

In my experience and many more is a great way to solve lots of problems.

1.- In the file manager please click on the disk that says "128 GB Volume"
In GNU/Linux everything is a file. So instead of letters like C: or D: your
drive should be called something like /sda1 /sdb /sdc /sdc1 it depends.

To be fair. Unfortunately women had been mistreated in most cultures, not

But my point was not to point to western countries but to give an explanation

Is sad to see such irrational person who misses a little history like the
fact that in western countries the laws and culture are inherited by romans

Under Roman's laws the women was a property of men and was forbidden to do

Trisquel rules clearly state that discrimination is against Trisquel values.
Marioxcc has clearly posted discrimination towards women and his comments are
not only negative, but destructive, irrational and should not be part of this

OK first of all do a back up of you SSD to your 4TB drive so you don't lost

But I will stay on Parabola :) I love having programs that work better each

Please go to BIOS take pictures of it and post them here so we can help you.

How? Is not like Fuchsia is proprietary software.
It is not like GPv2 prevents Tivotization of devices. And Smartphones are not

Why not telling them about a better network like Mastodon, GNU Social,

Twitter is worst each day. Not only for freedom but also as a plataform.
Many old twitter users are moving to Mastodon.
What DE are you using ? There should be at option to set Default Applications

I don't think they did wrong. Systemd is supported by almost all the
community now. So they will get security patches by major companies.
Parabola is not Arch and they do support OpenRC.
Systemd development... I have no opinion there.
But with the current polticial situation I think is
You can install Parabola with OpenRC:
https://wiki.parabola.nu/OpenRC#Installation_on_a_fresh_system
You can give Parabola a try and see how good the latest software is. I
promise you won't want to go back to older releases :)
I installed Parabola in an encrypted / with f2fs and btrfs in /boot
Grub doesn't support F2FS you will need syslinux
Here is the tutorial I used:

I know you are getting started, and you like Trisquel. That is why I am
asking in a politely way :)
I don't see how hyperbola might be any different, they will share the same
installer. Both are based on Arch.
This ain't related to systemd either because Debian testing works well on
your machine.
I did say though that Parabola might not be worth it if the hardware is too
old for newer
Based on Antergos :) for beginners... That might be worth it though..
I used text interface:

File system: encrypted f2fs for / and /home
btrfs for /boot
Bootloader: Syslinux

Works like a charm :)
Hello :) welcome to our humble abode! err I mean.. Forum :)
Another good thing about Parabola is that if something doesn't work you can
file a bug report and it is fixed almost immediately.
A couple months ago there was a problem with the PGP keys of a contributor
and you couldn't install programs build by him.
I filed a report and a couple hours
The main reason I went to parabola was a comment that said something like
I've found that "stable" or "LTS" versions are usually more buggy and less
stable than newer releases. Newer releases tend to fix lots of bugs and don't
add that many new features and, in the case something breaks is

The technical and legal challenges on creating a completely libre device are
far way beyond giving it a cute name.
You can support

Even when you forget to encrypt something it will still be encrypted. The
problem with this devices is that is really hard to actually delete the stuff
you put in them.

I recommend you to encrypt the whole USB or your hard drives (or SSD or even
MicroSD or android phone) to don't have this problems.
Of course this means being extra careful with your data.
I am not judging you.

In my country this doesn't work :/
But it is interesting.
This is more of a Libreboot problem than Trisquel or Ubuntu. So you might
want to ask to libreboot.
This is normal do a Trisquel live USB with Ubuntu and it will say "you can

Trisquel substituted all the "Ubuntu" for "Trisquel" so is normal.
