Hi Wendy -- The U2UG and related web site really are "us" (you, me,
u2-users, ...) even if we are still in a bit of a "quiet phase" with the
U2UG -- that should change soon.
David J is on the U2UG Board (had to have a token aussie, you know) and he
really can help make that forum happen. [The d

Sure, but I don't think they'll add it. For a brief period there were
support forums, including one that we eventually named "Exter

Is anyone interested in the U2 User Group forming a Special Forum on the
U2UG web page for those working on the U2 xml interface.
The idea is to provide an area for those starting an xml project and other
interested parties to work together and we will try and organise an IBM

Not yet --- IBM are you listening??
However, that would have to be the perfect setup for them, in my mind, as
without SB+ (or some other tool front end!) they don't have a product a new
person could love - who could learn to use UniData/UniVerse in with the raw
database tools alone? Ick!

D3 is shutting down on it's own? I've never heard of this and now both of

When you say "shutting down", do you mean a clean shutdown or a crash, as in

I know there's a UD/UDT PE for Win or Linux, but is there an SB+ PE to go
with it?

What version of UniData? If it's 6.0.12, there was a problem at that
release where the GUI ran really poorly... There will be a fix pushed in the
next release. Until then, here is a tunable you can set that we used

Many thanks to all who responded, except IBM who have been about as useful as a 3

Like Mark, we are using UOJ to send and receive the XML to UniVerse. We ended up
developing our own routines, to get a better response. We have the need for near real
time access, in our J2EE environment, and utilize XML in the web app as well as the
means to communicate to the UniVerse Back e
I've seen this periodically on our sites. Usually those who refuse to reboot
their servers on a scheduled weekly/biweekly basis (we're still running NT).
What release are they running?

Actually, the information about whether its 32- or 64-bit is there but not
in the default information you presented. When you are in filepeek,
simply enter "0" (zero) and you get a display something like:
: ACEF010C 0002 0075 |u...
0010 : 0002
Thanks for everybodys suggetions.
At the end of the day it was not a UniVerse problem. (although NOEJECT was
the cause)
Where we setup our Lexmark Setting for System Builder, we had included
NOEJECT
Once we removed this, it worked just fine.

Thanks for your help
It seems that one of our files in our \\IBM\UV\SQL directory got corrupt.
We restored the whole directory and this sorted out the problem.

Does anyone have any recollection of any TCL comand or Data/Basic
command/statement that would cause the D3 VME on W2K to shut down. I know that
there's the SHUTDOWN verb and one of the user-exits does the same.
I've got a new client and they report this problem on one of their systems. I
haven't
I just did an UPDATE.ACCOUNT, But it still returns the same error.
Thanks anyway
