I seam to be having the same problem. Keyring does not save any passwords.
Also when I try to create a new keyring in the keyring manager I get and error
saying.
GNOME Keyring daemon is not running.
Don't know if this is helpful or even entirely related :)

With a fresh edgy install on a Compaq nc6120 laptop, if you plug a
headphone, the sound will still come from the speakers.
The solution is simple : in gnome-volume-properties, check the
Headphone jack sense box.

My workaround at the moment is:
- create a script /usr/local/bin/halt.sh with sudo /sbin/halt -p in it
- set permissions for any user to execute halt in sudoers (visudo as root)
- put a turn-off button on your desktop that executes /usr/local/bin/halt.sh
That works for the moment.

I've tested with the latest kernel from feisty 2.6.19-5 which I believe
contains the patches from that kernel bug and I still experience the same
problems, namely:
- Fan's don't (Audibly) come on
- Temperature reported is bogus (Either -ve numbers, or very high +ve numbers)
- Machine shuts down
Easier to change the initscript for now. Targeted for Feisty.

I have a similar problem when inserting memory sticks, or connecting a
digital camera through usb cable ( seen as mass storage device )
I can choose to upload to digikam, but digikam returns an error about
not finding the device.

en did a reboot. After reboot my mouse en keyboard didn't work anymore.
I have a ps2 keyboard and an usb mouse with ps2 converter. If I don't

Found the culprit: An extraneous cdrom entry in fstab for the /dev/sdb1
device. After commenting out the line from /etc/fstab, the automounting
worked.

I'm using the same (kde-guidance 0.7.0-0ubuntu4) package, and still
having problems with my i915 card. Tried to edit
/usr/share/apps/guidance/pcitable, but my card was correctly on the

the issue can be worked around by removing/renaming the srcpkgcache.bin
and pkgcache.bin files, located in /var/cache/apt.
of possible interest is bug 61708.
Before discovering the workaround, I manually downgraded all feisty
packages I thought would affect apt. The segfault still existed.
The patch also works for me, on a Toshiba Satellite A110-180.
