Commands that use the minibuffer and that display a prompt (e.g., C-x
C-f to find file) often do not fully display their prompt text, although
the text is present as far as emacs is concerned. That is, the text
isn't displayed, but the blinking cursor has advanced correctly,
It happens less when maximized, but it turns out it does happen some.
It happens less (or maybe not at all) on my Acer 1410 netbook than on
the machine from which I reported the bug. On that host, I sometimes
see drawing errors (i.e., missing glyphs) even in the main buffers.

another workspace using the workspace switcher in the launch / dock tool
on the left. In that new workspace, click the gnome-terminal launcher

I end up abandoning the launcher for many apps because it will bring me

When firefox prompts for the master password, a dialog appears asking
for a password with text Please enter the master password for the
Software Security Device. But nowhere does it identify itself as
firefox nor does it explain which profile is asking for a password.

I propose simply that the dialog title change to something like
firefox: please enter your master password
(if only one profile exists)
or
firefox: please enter your master password for profile p
(if multiple profiles exist)

Looks like a duplicate was filed at #1452765.
That gives an example where this results in data loss (admittedly via a script
that could have been more careful).
