Hi everyone,
the bug only occurs if you use the idmap ad backend. With backend tdb
everything works fine.
I tracked this down to the file /var/run/samba/gencache.tdb. The file
lies in a tmpfs and is cleared on every reboot. Winbind uses it to
store the sid2uid and sid2gid mapping information in

I observe similar problem. Time to time keyboard stops working. I can
restore normal function by switching workspaces using mouse. In the
keyboard-less state gksu won't work complaining: Cannot grab your
keyboard.
It started after I upgraded to upstart.

I would not say they are normal, they do not install any system
relevant files, which contradicts the very nature of a package. Their
sole purpose is to have dependencies as a means of convenience for easy
installation of related package sets.
Very simple heuristics can be used to separate them
wxmaxima will not display maxima output, nevertheless plotting % of the

[Intrepid] iwl3945 + iwlagn -- network-manager will not connect to a WPA EAP

I compared my working wpa_supplicant file with the config that
networkmanager generates (according to the log) like suggested in
comment 101. There are a lot of differences, but I was able to pinpoint
on the phase2 property. My working wpa_supplicant file looks like this

I'm having the same problem. I used the alternate install CD (AMD64) in
textmode , so I could install without problems. But I have to disable splash
to boot into Feisty, otherwise I get the kernel panic incl. blinking keyboard
LEDs. The same happens on at least one other AMD64 machine I know

I did have sound with a similar configuration.
However, after disabling ESD and alsa-utils (trying to debug another problem) I
lost sound.

I'm using a feisty upgraded to gutsy system. Upgrade went along fine but
I can't boot from the 2.6.22-12-generic kernel i ended up with. System

For me, I had to remove nvidia-glx-new and all other related packages,
download the NVIDIA drivers from their website (I use 9631, 9755 doesn't
work for me), compiled it and it was working. I also have FX 5200,

could compile the NVIDIA driver.
As for using the nvidia-glx, it didn't do it for me, I had some strange
stuff going on, no matter what I did, it could never load the nvidia

I have never seen it in hardy before the upgrade. Clear case of a regression

I try to suspend my new computer via pm-suspend without quirks (no effect..).
Suspend works, but resume does not. On the one hand the screen is still blank
