[Bug 1393079] Re: Touchpad not working after suspend/resume

2014-11-30 Thread BoD
Unfortunately, I do not have access to a Windows partition to boot on :(
Because of this, I don't know a way to update the Bios.

I hope someone else interested in this issue can try it and keep us
informed here.

[Bug 1204854] [NEW] Compiz is taking ~40% of the cpu

2013-07-25 Thread BoD
Public bug reported:

This happens frequently, after I unplug my monitor from my laptop.
I killed compiz and tried unity --replace.
But it doesn't fix the problem, compiz still takes between 30% and 40% of cpu,
constantly.
If I reboot the system, the problem disappears... until next time :)

[Bug 1174256] Re: MacBookPro9, 2: Brightness keys no longer work after upgrading to 13.04

2013-06-30 Thread BoD
I'm sorry I could never find time to test with another kernel.

The issue still exists (I'm using the line mentioned above to change my
brightness).

[Bug 1174256] Re: MacBookPro9, 2: Brightness keys no longer work after upgrading to 13.04

2013-04-30 Thread BoD
After digging a bit, I have found that this command works:

# echo 2000
/sys/devices/virtual/backlight/apple_backlight/subsystem/intel_backlight/brightness

I noticed there is also another file
/sys/devices/virtual/backlight/apple_backlight/subsystem/apple_backlight/brightness
and the value in there changes when I use the brightness keys. Echoing
into that file doesn't do anything.

So my understanding is that there are two files and the wrong one is
used.

Hope this helps!

[Bug 778852] Re: Sound is distorted sometimes

2013-01-22 Thread BoD
I realize this bug is old but I can confirm it's still happening to me (Ubuntu
12.10 running on a MacBook Pro).
Restarting pulseaudio (pulseaudio -k) fixes the issue... until the next time it
happens :)
A little annoying, but I guess it must be hard to fix do to the 'random' nature
of it...

[Bug 494398] [NEW] Unable to change the order of files in an iPOD playlist

2009-12-09 Thread BOD
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Using Rhythmbox I am able to add content to my iPOD and add this content
into playlist. However, when I re-order the content in the playlist my
changes are never saved to the device. When I play the playlist it gets
played in th eold order and when I re-attach the iPOD to my laptop I see
that the old order of the playlist is still maintained on the device.

[Bug 150101] unable to install 64bit kubuntu

2007-10-07 Thread bod
Public bug reported:

I have just purchased a new PC with dual CPUs on the Gigabyte 965P motherboard.
Have installed Ubuntu 7.04 32 bit version. As I have yet to use this new PC, I
thought I should try the 64 bit version. So my install attempt is over the top
of the existing install.
The failure point is shortly after commencing install (selected start or
install Kubuntu). Appears to be a display problem???, as the screen goes blank
and my monitor indicator goes from green to amber.
Had tried installing 7.04 64bit Ubuntu as well, but it failed exactly at the
same point as this Kubuntu 7.10.
I read somewhere that it is a problem with correctly recognising the 965P
motherboard (thinks it is something else).

I found the reference that might help:

Sound similar to my problem.

[Bug 150101] Re: unable to install 64bit kubuntu

2007-10-07 Thread bod
ok, ok - call me dumb.
finally got it to boot from safe graphics mode. But had to take this path a
number of times before it would complete a successful installation. Keep
getting a signal failure to the LCD monitor. The installation failed at various
stages. Was stubborn enough to keep trying until finally got it.
My problem now is the screen resolution. Under monitor maintenance there is no
mention of my monitor (BENQ FP92W), not can I get 1440x900 resolution.
