My update-notifier icon in the system tray is now showing an error. I

live cd but went unnoticed until I was trying to update repeatedly to
eliminate a broken alsa-utils update that was served today.
I have no idea why it should need reading privileges by others but the

but I am not convinced this issue has been fully resolved.

The side bar collapses down to a few pixels and won't allow resizing. I

I have changed back from xscreensaver to light-locker.
Bug #1303736 suggests that the bug is with the interaction between light-locker
and xfce4-power-manager settings.

I decided to see which kernels would give me my wireless mouse back after a
reboot.
Tried 3.13.0-27-generic no wireless mouse detected

I woke up this morning to find my machine had suspended to a black
screen using 3.13.0-27-generic. I am now almost certain the issue is

Just an update on behaviour.
This morning when I woke up I opened my Samsung laptop lid and as
expected the screen was blank. I had set up an alias in my bash with
'xrandr -- auto' to try so I pressed Super+t to get a terminal even
though I was expecting to do this with no screen.
