Paul, When you saved the file(s), in what folder did you save them? What did you name the file(s)? In what format (extension) did you save the file(s)? The default is generally ‘untitled 1.odt’ in whatever folder you last saved a text file. That folder will most likely be in the ‘Documents

That is simply a list of recently used documents; it may have been cleared by inadvertently clicking Clear List under the list of files, by resetting the AOO user profile or by an AOO upgrade from e.g. version 3 to version 4. You should still be able to access your documents by using File

Richard, When you saved it where did you save it to? What did you answer to the query about updating the links? What operating system are you using? Assuming you’re using windows have you searched for the saved files using File Explorer? What was the result? Please reply to:

I have twice had to rewrite my book because the new open office apache 4.1.6 does not save the file. It asks to update all links? Yes or no the file is still not there I the first place this is very annoying. The Forum answers are not sufficient in how to restore the seemingly lost file.

I did not find an answer to my question. I have Open Office 4.1.6 and it loses my documents. I ask for help and it tells me that it will give me a report, but it never comes through. What can I do to retrieve the documents and what do you suggest? Thank you.
