Cells A1, B1, D1, E1 have numbers in them that may be greater than 0 (vero)
or less than 0
In cell Z1, if all the four cells have numbers greater than 0, 3
always write your own formula, if you have some programming skills.

Exactly in what way does it not work? Did you install your
dictionaries properly? Can you see and select them in Tools → Options
→ Language → blah blah blah whatever the next step is? What is your
operating system?

Documentation says you can compare words, only numbers.
I think they mean that things like
=IF(JohnnyRosenberg;Yes;No) doesn't make much sense. But you
can still test for = and ≠ ().

file type is the attachment you are talking about? OpenOffice.org
support many file types, almost everything related to ”office stuff”
like spreadsheets, text documents and so on.

I still get a 508 error using it.
Error 508 means that parentheses don't match and shouldn't have
anything to do with comparing strings. Check again that you didn't
type one parenthesis too many or if you missed one.
