[SOGo] Cannot change calendar properties in Thunderbird 60
Hi, in Thunderbird 60.5.3 with SOGo add-ons 60.0.1 I cannot change any calendar properties. The "OK" button cannot be clicked. Re: [SOGo] iPhone EAS Sent and Trash
Thomas, thanks for your advice. Indeed the same operations did not work in the web interface. [We normally do not use it, we use Thunderbird as frontend.] on sent: "Sent is not an IMAP4 folder" on delete: "Die Nachricht(en) konnten nicht in den Papierkorb verschoben werden. Wollen Sie diese endgültig löschen?" [could not move to Trash] In the IMAP hierachie the folders Sent and Trash are shown on the same level as Inbox - but there are _under/in_ Inbox. I set now: SOGoTrashFolderName = INBOX.Trash; SOGoSentFolderName = INBOX.Sent; And it works in the web interface. (Displaying the Sent and Trash folders does not change though.) Copy to Sent on send is working now in EAS. [SOGo] iPhone EAS Sent and Trash
Hi, I have an iPhone connected via MobileIron MDM with EAS to SOGo. This works fine. I cannot delete mails. Trash is not found. Sent mails are not stored anywhere. IMAP server is cyrus. Mailboxes Sent and Trash exist. These are the SOGo defaults too. Does anyone knew what mailboxes EAS / an iPhone expects? The iPhone runs on German locale. May that be a problem here? [SOGo] calendar.events.defaultTransparency.allday.transparent
Hi, we want all day events to show as "busy" by default. Till now we patched the Lightning add-on to do so: calendar.events.defaultTransparency.allday.transparent = false Now Lightning is a signed add-on. To change the add-on we may have to remove the signature. How can this be done? The files mentioned at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Add-ons/Extension_Signing are not in the Lightning xpi. Is there any other way to achieve this? Setting a default pref is over ruled by the add-on. We do not want to set a forced pref. Setting this in the SOGo integrator like described in https://sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=3166 did not work for us and may not now - or does it? Lightning relies a lot on XPCOM because of libical but there's a rewrite of the iCalendar handling library in JS (https://github.com/mozilla-comm/ical.js/). All this seems to cause a lot of turmoil in the developer community. I read of plans to do a complete rewrite of Thunderbird as "Thunderbird++"... I won't hold my breath on this :-) I wonder what are the plans of the sogo team for this are * what is the road map of SOGo? While I haven't personally looked into this too much, our extensions relies more on Lightning's code than anything else. I think the porting effort will be reasonable once/if Lightning gets done. from the TB Enterprise list (Philipp Kewisch): "Thunderbird will continue to support XUL/XPCOM as long as possible. While we do need to look into new APIs and ways on how we can support add-ons in a sustainable way, we are not following the same pace and plan that Firefox is. As Thunderbird is using the Mozilla platform, there will eventually be an incompatible change. And I hope this will last some time or I have to search for an alternative... you can - as stated in this thread - offer both V2 GUI and V3 GUI and let the users choose (if it is not a support issue). [SOGo] SOGo Servers interfere each other?
Hi, we have oversized system setup with three SOGo front end servers and a pgpool postgreSQL DB cluster and a loadbalancer in front. The system is designed for +10,000 users. Now we have less than 250. The system is running for a few months now and user count rose slowly to about 150. When we activated about 80 new users yesterday, suddenly the system became inaccessable. We deactivated two of the three servers (I'm leaving out a few things here*) and the system went back to normal. The issue is now reproducible. When the second SOGo server starts up, - after a few minutes there occur requests, that do not terminate: "pid x has been hanging in the same request for x minutes" these become more and more on both servers - now all the handlers are busy, and there are none left: "No child available to handle incoming request!" - with no free handlers, SOGo becomes unreachable - nginx goes to 504 - bad gateway - the load balance throws out both SOGo front ends and the whole system is "gone". When the second server shuts down, - everything goes back to normal near immediately Load is more or less the same all the time. Hardware is near to idle. Are the two servers running together longer, I get these errors in sogo.log: Jan 22 13:28:12 sogod [20373]: [ERROR] <0x0x929998[GCSChannelManager]> could not open channel <0x0xc23a78[PostgreSQL72Channel]: not-connected> for postgresql://10.49.40.80/sogo/sogo_user_profile Jan 22 13:28:12 sogod [20373]: [ERROR] <0x0xc1f1a8[SOGoSQLUserProfile]> failed to acquire channel for URL: postgresql://sogo:@10.49.40.80:5433/sogo/sogo_user_profile Any hint? There is not mailbox and there should be no mailbox. Interaction with the resource - on invitation - is done without mail anyway. Can this be turned off? On a new invitation there is one mail sent. This mail is created by the SOGo server itself. If one reacts on an invitation, SOGo immediately sends another mail the the meeting originator. This is fine too. But then Lightning(?) asks, if to sent a(nother) mail in Outlook format? If yes, there is a second mail created and sent from the client host to the meeting originator. This is not fine at all. You can set password expiration i.e. in openldap by the password policy overlay. But I'm not sure if SOGo honors this. In general SOGo does an LDAP bind with the credentials entered by the user which the LDAP server handles itself. Is it the same validation with the Webmail and Thunderbird ? There is documentation about this ? If you are connecting to the SOGo services (SOGo Web GUI, CalDAV, CardDAV vie Thunderbird/iPhone/etc.), SOGo uses the configured authentication backend. Peter, Peter Schmidt schrieb (29.11.2012 10:50 Uhr): We are planning to replace our MS AD Domain (+ external POP3 mail server) setup with Samba4 and SOGo. The challenging part is, that we have two offices at different locations, each should be able to operate redundantly/independently to reduce load on the internet. Userdata, Profiles and Mail/Calendar need to be in sync. We thought of syncing data/directories via GlusterFS and databases (for SOGo) via MySQL replication. Dovecot as a mail server can be replicated using dsync [1]. The clients are Windows XP/7 and will likely use Thunderbird as a Mail-Client, but we need MS Exchange-Connectivity for 3rd party services running on some Windows servers. Most Clients/Users are stationary at one site, but some are moving between the 2 locations. Optimally the profiles and mails are synced and the local server is chosen dynamically (possibly via DNS). For handling incoming/outgoing mail traffic, the current external mail server could be used as a relay, but we would love to avoid that. So basically my questions are: *) has anybody of you done something like this before and has encountered problems that can be avoided *) Can multiple SOGo servers handle the same domain, based on a Primary/Backup-DC setup of samba4 *) Can SOGo Databases be synced on the fly? If sogo-integrator is installed first and sogo-connector is second, deletion of a calendar i.e. is not send to the server. (like in bug 1977) We like to install our extension globally, so we put them in program default directory (outside the profile). In this case we have no influence in what order the extensions are installed. With a blank profile this is always wrong for the two sogo extensions. Is there any way to influence the order of extension installations? This is not alphabetically by the file name. The order of the installation is reflected to extension.sqlite. Are you sure you changed the port at the right place where the start script gets its settings from? Did you check you setting made it to the process i.e. with the ps command? [SOGo] checking the log - "flow" of invitations
Hi, is there any simple way to check for invitations in the logs? Say user a come to the admins and says: "I invited user b. But user b says, I have not. Tell me, that the invitation was send!" Marc -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] How to Authenticate with IMAP Server?
Maik, Maik Derstappen schrieb (11.09.2012 11:13 Uhr): i have still a problem to connect to my IMAP-Server. I can login with my user name and password and the calendar works fine, but when sogo tries to connect to my IMAP-Server it fails. Even if i setup another IMAP account for a user inside SOGo it does not work. The account data are the same in SOGo and my IMAP accounts. I also tried tls and ssl, but both doesn't work. The seperator is now set to ".", because my dovecot use this, but the default of "/" was also not working. Any ideas how to fix that? What does your dovecot log say for both of the tries and how do they differ? Marc -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

That is generally a sign that you wrongly configured/customized your SOGo Integrator extension. It is not the webserver. I changed apache with nginx, and the result is the same. I'm further pretty sure, it is not the customization, because this is only the hostname to change and this is right. We found out with extensions version 10.0.2 it is working. With a fresh profile with extensions version 10.0.3 it is not working. With a fresh profile and integrator 10.0.2 and connector 10.0.3 is it working. With a former 10.0.2 profile and both 10.0.3 extension it is working. So the problem seems to be introduced with the integrator extension version 10.0.3. I got something very similar here. At first I thought it came from different versions on server and clients, but now I'm using 1.3.18a on server, and TB ESR 1.0.0.7 + 10.0.3 extensions... and I keep on having the same symptoms as Marc. Are there differences in updates.php? For I might have kept the "old" one (since Debian packages don't have it, IIRC)... I opened a bug last week (#1977) and saw afterwards that there is one already (#1970). http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=1970 Marc -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] Sogo 2.x on virtual server
Holger, Holger Biber schrieb (08.09.2012 16:21 Uhr): I'm evaluating SOGo 2.0 for our business school (80 teachers, 2000 students) and I want to use the native M$-Outlook compatibility. My system is a vServer (virtual Server) with 8GB RAM, 100 GB HDD and CentOS 5. I hope the system is only for SOGo and not the mailserver itself. 100 GB/2000 user = 50 MB per user. This would be a bit small for an recent IMAP mail store. Marc -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
