I was wondering if there is a certain procedure to move users from one
server to another? The servers are configured the same, with the same
version of Vpopmail. Can I just tar the domain directory and copy it over?
Thanks,
Dan Didier

You must tar /home/vpopmail/ (not only domains, etc too)
/var/qmail/control
some days ago i add virtual domain in catch-all-mode,
and found the following problems:
PROBLEM #1.
dot-qmail-default with contents like
| /var/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' [EMAIL PROTECTED]
produce unnecessarily Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
instead of just Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Normal.
With e-mail-address as destination another _delivery_ is done,
therefore a new 'Delivered-To:' is inserted.
With directory a simple 'store' is done, therefore no new
'Delivered-To:' is added.
ok, in other words you may write: i'm wrong everywhere -- thanks for
this,
but i recommend you to think again about that questions, maybe opinion will
change

Hi,
I think Peter answers were good for #2-4, but I would like to comment on
#1.

Go, figure out what 'catch-all-mode' means _in hard facts_.
'Catch all' could be achieved by simply putting

when i start to type that list of problems, i already been prepared to do
work myself, as it will be no interest for everyone,

I understand there are some issues with quota support in
qmail+vpopmail. I just joined this mailing list, so if this was
ITOH, can i only populate the vpopmail table to create the
new users instead of using the vpopmail executables?
Yes you can
I use an ASP script on a W2K web server to insert new users into the
MySQL
table on our vpopmail Linux server
You could do the same thing with PHP if you
i don't know how to check what i set as the checkpassword

Hi there,
I have a quesiton on vpopmail+qmail receive time
problem,
qmail smtp mail time is correct , but as I get messages
that state received
tomorrow.
anybody can help this?
thanks very much
Lucy
Hello.
I installed vpopmail and have some domains but am
confused as to the aliases.
Conventionally, they are in /var/qmail/alias.
Typically, .qmail-root, .qmail-postmaster and a
softlink .qmail-mailer-daemon is linked to
postmaster.
You enter a user who actually receives the mail
This is not a vpopmail issue and thus is off topic for this list.

1) if I use that qmail server to inject a email to other mail server, the smtp time is
correct
and the receiver can get corrrect both sending/receiving time ;
2) I can
Oh forget to add the message details for that in correct receiving time
