Aaron, I didn't mean to come off as impolite. Life goes on. It is now nv_107 and 1 1/2 months later. I followed the procedure in this thread but ALT L f2 still does nothing. I am using a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite keyboard (how pretentious). Could that be the problem. Unfortunately, I don'

Hi Ron, Thanks for the feed back. If you can describe your problem more concisely, we can better solve it. We need the information such as how many console-login service instances are there. If console-login:vt3 does not exist, ALt F3 does nothing even if vtdaemon is running. And there are too m

On build 103, I have set hotkeys = true, refreshed the service so that pgrep -fl vtdaemon shows 17590 /usr/lib/vtdaemon -c 16 but ALT L f3 does nothing. I assume Alt L means the left Alt key. Nowhere have I seen a concise writeup of how to set up and use virtual console. Its as if this "featur

It should be just a temperate state, after all done, VT should be available by default. Regards, Aaron On 11/26/08 08:52, Ben Rockwood wrote: > Just tried out VT on build 103... had to enable all the > system/console-login:vt* services, and system/vtdaemon, then use svccfg to > enable hotkey,

Just tried out VT on build 103... had to enable all the system/console-login:vt* services, and system/vtdaemon, then use svccfg to enable hotkey, then refresh vtdaemon and reboot. Upon boot vt worked fine. I don't mind the process, but having to enable hotkey is lame. Modifying SMF properties

Did you try "svcadm refresh vtdaemon" ? Otherwise the new options/hotkeys=true would not be really passed to vtdaemon process even across reboots! I did not see you do the refresh, so it won't be a SMF bug. Lars Tunkrans wrote: > Aaron wrote: > > vtdaemon is invoked with option "k" whi

When I comment out the two lines in /lib/svc/method/vtdaemon that manipulates the "-k" argument SMF starts vtdeamon without the -k argument. //Lars -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
