BTW I bought the C&F bobbin but haven't tied on it yet but did load a 70 denier
thread on it. It feels good in your hand but seems like it puts more tension on
the thread then a standard bobbin. After I tie a few flies with it I will give
a report.

Back in the early 50's, my father actually made three bamboo surf rods from

He tied the guides on and the Penn reel was held on with hose clamps.
The handle was nothing more then black electrical tape rapped around the base.

Had an absolutely great day fishing today with two fishing buddies.
Not a cloud in the sky and every once in a while a little breeze came up.
Not enough to cause any problems in our pontoon boats.
