I have just started Vlogging and have used my minidv camcorder and also
an Olympus digital camera with video. I really like using the camera
because it's much more portable, but it isn't able to record sound.

Canon makes some great cameras that work well for videoblogging. At their highest quality they probably have the best video I've seen from an MPEG4 camera. I use a Sanyo Xacti and love it because it's shaped kind of like a pistol and holds 40 min of video at it's highest quality on a 1GB card
