MediaRSS does have tons of cool metadata. It lets you specify multiple versions of a video (maybe WMV, MOV, m4v and 3gp) while including nifty data like links to thumbnails and keyframes. It's very, very sweet and everyone and their brother should support it by publishing it and reading it.

We currently use rel=enclosure in cross-posts, but we don't and can't use rel=thumbnail because (afaik) images in XHTML don't have a rel attribute. I'd be very hesitant to use something like class=thumbnail because of potentially conflicting CSS on remote sites (we prefix class names in

Creating customized feeds of this sort is still rather difficult for non-programmers since its custom functionality that blogging tools just don't come with straight out of the box. It could probably be implemented with a plugin for Wordpress, MovableType, or Drupal (perhaps such plugins exist?)
