This could be caused by so many things... possibly your network had an issue,
your phone somehow got muted, iOS needed a reboot, if you don't have great
signal and use wifi maybe your internet went out briefly... glad your issue is
fixed.

Finally, I shut it down completely, brought it back up,
turned Voiceover off then on, and now it works fine.
Anyone have any idea what was going on?
I went to the ATT store with a friend who incidentally had to get a new
phone and got an iphone.
Anyway, the guy took mine, and within seconds had it working again.
I was thankful especially he knew what to do but just frustrated I had to
make the trip, just because any other sighted person I

I think she means when you have to choose from a menu: 1 for this and 2 for
that., but yes, that comma for extensions is mighty handy.

The best work around I've found is to plug in headphones. It wasn't this way
with my 3GS but is a royal pain with the 4S.

a phone call working with an automated system
Hi all. I currently have the i phone 4s. I can dial on it to make a phone
call. When the automated system comes on, however the keypad doesn't speak
and I can't imput the numbers that I need in to the phone to work with the
paratransit automated system
If they are the same numbers every time (like an extension), you can
place commas or semicolons in the contact. The commas will pause for a
few seconds then dial the next set of numbers.

. No matter how high you set the
volume, when you dial a number, VO drops way down. That was the first thing I
tried.
