I agree with your rant; and I'll add my own. VoiceOver is free. You get amazing accessibility, and it does not cost a cent more. Bugs exist in all software, get over it. If you use a Windows computer, you have to spend a heck of a lot more for good accessibility; and there are bugs there too.

Have you tried a reset? Not a reboot, but holding down the home and power buttons simultaneously for about ten seconds? It ma also be worth going into Settings Siri and toggling Siri off and back on. I don't personally use the feature you described, but these are standard troubleshooting steps

Yes, it is safe. I don't know the technical differences, but it is essentially a next-level reset. I know some people who perform this routinely, just as a matter of course, to keep any problems from building up. I don't, personally, and I save it for only when it is necessary. Either way, it
