counterintuitive. I am used to typing where you push down on the key you

I personally, would have stook to standard typing, as you have to double
tap, before it will enter a character. This is what i did, until i got use

I don't use direct touch, but I do use touch typing or braille. Sometimes
things work fine, but most of the time, VoiceOver lags terribly when replying
to texts from notifications. I don't know if the two bugs are related, or even
facets of the same core problem.

typing. The direct touch typing option is new with IOS 8

feature works. Rather than dragging your finger around the screen and lifting
your finger when you find the character you were looking for, direct touch
typing is designed for you to tap the character exactly
Also with touch typing, even if you land right on top of the character
you want to enter, you still need to wait a beat before the character is
entered. This is so if you land on the wrong character you have a chance
to move around and find the right character before lifting your finger
on the direct touch typing it also appears that you can move your finger
around the screen and it speaks everything that is on your screen when u
move your finger around it will speak what your finger is over
simular to what android explore by touch does.

totally blind people who have used this method successfully, including myself.
Maybe it's because it's a little tricky to describe. It's a little like
describing balancing on a bicycle. But it's like any other method

I'm a little puzzled
I still don't understand the use of direct touch typing. If you have
to tap somewhere else when you find the letter, how is that different
from standard typing?

I'm like you Teresa, Fleksy never works for me. I can only type like
10 to 15 words prm in Average using fleksy, compare to 50 or 60 words
prm to standard or touch typing.
i haven't try the direct typing yet, as i can't really be bother to
install iOS8 just yet. More to do with my laziness than
battery, or changing phone, is not to do with the hardware, or the
ios. It is definitely to do with specific apps. As to which apps, i
can't put my finger on it just yet.

I also don't see what's wrong with adding another input method. If you
don't like it then don't use it. I don't see either direct touch typing
or handwriting causing any ill side effects.

You don't have to tap somewhere else though I suppose you can do that. Somebody
posted that direct touch typing involves a split tap and so it keeps coming up
but that's actually not what you need to do though you can.
The actual main ingredients in direct touch typing are a light touch
