Yeah, compact Daniel is pretty fuzzy. Also, Samantha in any form sounds really raspy. And, I don't know, sort of breathy. I hope that makes some kind of sense. As for non-compact voices sounding superior at lower speeds, I'll have to give that a try, especially Daniel. I can't listen to VoiceO

I've noticed how choppy they are, too. Personally, I can't stand them. I, too, use the compact Australian voice, Karen. I love it! I can't stand Samantha in any form whatsoever. The only reason I use her in compact form at all is because when I have my Braille display connected to my iPhone, I

Well, you have a history of using awful speech. Some of thos old models were truly bad and Eloquence always sounded muddy to me. Crank it up to a decent speed and it seemed to become one giant syllable. At 01:07 PM 6/1/2013, you wrote: Nuance also has blind employees. I'm blind, and I prefer t

Nuance also has blind employees. I'm blind, and I prefer the HQ voices. I find them a bit crisper and clearer. I'm not saying people don't have a legitimate complaint about the HQ voices, but I think a lot of it is what you get used to. For example, I just switched from Eloquence to eSpeak on my P

Guys I should probably add that, at lower speeds, the high quality voices are superior without a doubt. So, if what you want is clear human-sounding speech but don’t mind slower speeds, then the HQ voices are probably for you. However we all probably have our voices at 100% (or at least I can’t
