Re: Renaming VDR files?
If I remember correctly, you open the file in question and then hit the 'edit' button. This will bring up a screen where, among other things, you can change the title. Re: [ddots-l] Re: AW: Re: AW: Shameless Plug For A Client
Hi Neville. I'm copying Steve's mailing list on this in case he wants to chime in. Yes I'm using Steve's HSC set with Melodyne Single Track, which is a less feature rich version of their program. It won't do polyphonic material like Melodyne Editor will. But, if you want to do pitch and timing correction on single vocal tracks, it's very very transparent. To my ear at least, you can't tell things have been corrected, unlike Autotune. It's a stand-alone program so as far as I know, there isn't a way to use it while listening to your entire mix, with the vocal in context, at least if you're using the 64-bit version. I'm guessing you could rewire Sonar 32-bit and Melodyne Single Track 32-bit together and accomplish this, but I haven't tried it. Steve, is this possible? Still, if you know what key the song is in and have a decent ear, you should be fine. Yet Another Meditation App
Hi folks. Interested in meditation, but don't want to become a Buddhist or get buried under a pile of wild claims and woo? Check out 10% Happier, Meditation for Skeptics. The course material is produced by Change Collective, featuring author and news anchor Dan Harris, and renound meditation teacher Joseph Goldstein. The content is a two-week course consisting of short talks, guided meditations and personal coaching. The first couple items are free, and the full course is $24.99. (20% less with code WAKEUP although I'm not sure where one enters this code if purchasing on their phone) I've installed the free trial - just search for 10% Happier in the App Store. However, I can't get the free content to play! I've tried double-tapping on just about everything I can think of. The sign in process was easy enough and text reads fine. Is it possible there's a play button here that is just invisible to Voiceover? I've contacted the developer to ask for some asistance and will post back here once I hear from them. I personally like Gigdaddy as a multi-track recording app on the iPhone. It is VoiceOver accessible and you can record one track, then listen to that while you record a second track, then a third and a fourth, then you can mix that down to a stereo recording, and if you want to get extra complicated, make that track 1 and add three more, etc. It costs $2.99. Steve, is this possible? two facetime questions
Hi, all. Here are my two questions. 1.I have my screen brightness set to 5 percent since I'm totally blind and want to save my battery as much as possible. Does my screen brightness effect a facetime call. Would the picture from my phone be better if brightness were set to say 100 per cent? If so, can the brightness be changed while the call is in progress? (Gues that was already more than two questions.) J 2. 2. I received 3 facetime calls over the last couple of weeks. In the one two weeks ago and one of the two today I had to turn my phone in portrait mode with the home button to the right. I was using the front facing camera. The screen orientation is locked. However, during the last facetime call the phone worked as expected with the home button at the bottom which is what has always been the case before. Is there something I should change to keep the view in portrait mode? Thanks in advance for any thoughts. 3. God bless! 4. Re: Audio in NFL Mobile
You can watch the game without commercials when you pull up a game that has already been played in the past. With live games, you'd obviously hear the commercials or some space filling music or announcements. Re: Audio in NFL Mobile
I'm not sure what you mean by the audio descriptions are an after thought. Audio pass streamed the radio broadcasts heard in the local markets. I don't think this is an after thought. They're the same radio broadcasts anyone in the local market would hear, whether they're blind or sighted. If you mean including radio broadcasts in the same package as the video broadcasts, instead of splitting them out separately, then although I'd like to see this happen myself, I suspect it wasn't so much an afterthought as instead a way of consolidating the delivery mechanism into one implementation. I personally plan on letting the NFL know that I'd rather pay for an audio only option, like we had with AudioPass, and I may be passing on the video package. Maybe if the NFL gets enough such feedback, they'll include an audio only option in the streaming package. If you're saying that the audio you get during a game is an afterthought then I'd disagree. They broadcasted an NFL game with no audio a few years ago, and it was a total flop. People, including sighted people, like the real time analysis of the game that you get during a TV broadcast. For me, I don't find the radio announcers so good or the TV announcers so bad that listening to a game on TV is a waste of my time as compared to a radio broadcast. I can usually follow a game just fine on TV, and I'll often listen to a nationally televised game of my favorite team when it's shown in my area over the homers on the radio broadcast. Re: Audible iOS app version 2.5.5, starting and stopping audio
Hi, It took me a long time to get used to the way it reports each book title twice as in book title image and then book title again. It isn’t a big deal but did take some getting used to for me. And it was funny I was in a multi-part book on my device and wanted to click on what used to be cover art to switch to jump forward by chapter but in this book instead of reporting the book's title it was just saying part 6. It took me an age to figure out that I could click on that and that control would change for me. I felt quite stupid temporarily (laughs). Have you reported the bad behavior to them? I have once again just because I can (smile). Someone will earn my money (smile). Robin From: Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Wednesday, August 12, 2015 12:31 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Audible iOS app version 2.5.5, starting and stopping audio For me it is more than the 2-finger double tap that doesn’t work. Sometimes even using the headset remote will start playing music over top of my audio book rather than stop the book. Also, in this version if you swipe through your list of books either in the cloud or on the device titles, author and length are no longer spoken as separate items but once again all together. That I actually think is an improvement since now I only have to swipe twice to move from one book to the next, once it will speak title, author, narrator and length of book or time remaining if the book was started and on the next swipe it will say “menu”, then on to the next title. Does anyone have any tips and tricks for this, and is there a message limit as far as length of time for the message? Are there any other good alternatives, and does the other person have to have the alternative option? Thank you. Paul -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. RE: Audio in NFL Mobile
Back several years ago my late husband and his mother were watching a baseball game on opposite sides of town, on the phone discussing the plays, we had Cox cable, not sure what she had but it was not COX at that time. She could hear the bat hit through our phone before she could see the play, I think there was about a minute delay between the two on the same station, same game. They were laughing about it because Tom would make comments before she could see the action. She was not well, and they often visited during sporting events they both enjoyed but the delay was usually a matter of seconds 3 or 4, not a full minute. Re: Apple Pay question
One other thing I forgot to mention. One place I use Apple Pay, Rubio's Mexican Grill, asks if the amount is correct on the terminal and I must hit a Yes button to finish the transaction. Unfortunately, this is all visual, so I have to ask for help. Also, sometimes Walgreens ask a question on the terminal such as would you like to donate...etc. It kind of defeats the whole idea of touch and go ,in my opinion. Re: Apple Pay question
My experience has been that Apple Pay will not announce the amount of purchase before I pay, therefore, it has the same disadvantage as any other payment process. Also, while the iPhone will store payment information, for a short period of time, in the passbook app, the Apple Watch does not. I rely on my credit card app to monitor my purchases. I use Apple Pay every day and so far I have had no problems Chuck -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. Wow! I thought that normally, the commercials are replaced with boring PSA's or silence. I'm not sure how it will be for regular games that aren't the Superbowl. There's supposedly all kinds of rights issues with the commercials, as I'm sure the station would like nothing more than to have the commercials seen further by having them online. - Original Message - From: Rose Combs To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Wednesday, August 12, 2015 12:35 PM Subject: RE: Audio in NFL Mobile Back several years ago my late husband and his mother were watching a baseball game on opposite sides of town, on the phone discussing the plays, we had Cox cable, not sure what she had but it was not COX at that time. Re: Audio in NFL Mobile
The no commercials thing only applies to the TV portion, where you can watch the games on-demand. I think people are getting that confused. GamePass allows you to either listen to live audio feeds of every game including playoffs and the Super Bowl, or you can watch them on-demand with the TV broadcasts with no commercials, and DVR functionality.
