RE: Apple Cash card?

2019-08-22 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hello Josh,

The payment method linked to your Apple account for app purchases and so on is
not the same as using Apple Pay. If you set up Apple Pay with a credit card you
can use it in stores by holding your phone to the card reader and
authenticating with your finger print or, for those who have the iPhone X and
up Face Id.

I'm not going to use apple pay at all. I've got pay-pal linked to my phone so
if I purchase an app I'll be able to do so.

 Hey Mary,

Yes I have set this up. I had no issues with the process. If you
follow the instructions you will have to put in your last four
digits of your social security number, and your banks routing
number. As well as the account number.

I have found that some of these screens need you to tap in the
middle of the screen for VoiceOver to focus on the content. It
seems that VO doesn’t refresh when the new page/screen loads.

I wish I could be of more assistance.

The first card is your default and you shouldn't have to select it, it will be
used automatically.

I have a Visa and a Mastercard set up for Apple Pay and have no problems
selecting the Visa which Is not my default card.
When I hold my phone near the terminal the Apple Pay screen pops up with my
Mastercard on top, I just double tap on it, then I double tap on my Visa which
also shows on the screen and that's it. Maybe I cold simply double tap on the
Visa right away, I'll try it today, but I for some reason have always done it
where I tap the default card first before I tap the other card and it works for
sure this way.

Hey Janet,

I kind of see what you’re talking about with ApplePay not allowing you to
select a specific card. If you simply don’t want to use the default card it
will not let you.

I however am seeing it will allow me to utilize all but one card for payment.
I have the Apple Card set up as my default payment card. A Wells Fargo Credit
Card, Wells Fargo Debit Card, and Apple Cash showing up as options. It will not
let me select the Wells Fargo Credit Card as my Payment option. It will however
let me select all of the others.

I’m puzzled with this one. I would suggest restarting your phone by pressing
the volume up and then the volume down buttons in rapid fire action and then
holding the power button for about 10-12 seconds. This will clear the system
cash and it might fix some of the little gremlins that have appeared.

I hope this helps and let us know if you have found a solution.

A) Goldman Sachs not chase
B) yes, you can get a card # from the wallet app. You can generate a new one at

You can request a physical card. It has a mag stripe for legacy systems and a
chip for newer systems

When you go to the Wallet app on your iPhone, you go to Apple Card if you have
applied, then More, and under there is the option to get the traditional info
one needs for other sites and places that don't take Apple Pay.

There is a way to use the Apple card on websites they don’t take Apple Pay.
They have little videos the talk all about the various aspects of it. And
they’re actually described. And no, the card is not from Chase. It is from
Goldman Saks. If you get the physical card, there is a way to use it in stores.
There is also a way to find the “number“ for your card, even though it’s not an
actual repeatable number that somebody could steal. If you go and find all
those cute little videos with Apple Support, you will see all about it. I
suspect there are probably also articles.

Getting back to where I was in my email list after I finish sending an email message, sorting messages, and downloading more messages from an exchange server with the iOs email program using the Focus

2019-08-22 Thread Kevin Minor

I’m just starting to use my iPhone to work with my email using my Focus 40 Blue
5th Generation and my iPhone X. Overall, I like how it works, however, I have 3
questions to ask.

First, when I write a message and send it, I’m mlaced at the top of my email
window on the Back button. Whenever I open a message, no matter where I am in
the list, and I want to just read one, instead of having focus on it when I
exit it, I’m put right back at the very top of the screen. This wouldn’t be a
problem, except stimes get hundreds of messages per day, and it’s tedious to
have to go through all the list to find where I was.The only wayou I can get
things behaving the way I want is to close the app, reopen it, and go through
the list to get back where I was. As long as I don’t compoease or reply to a
message, I can read anything to my heart’s desire, and I’m placed back where I
was when I exit the message. A way to get back where I was quickly after
sending a message with the native iOs email program?

Another question I have concerning this program is can you sort messages in
ascending order? Right now they’re with the most recent message on top, and I’d
like it the other way.

Finally, I use an exchange server. I have quite a few messages on my PC that I
can access, but I can’t get to the older messages on my iPhone, and some of the
older messages on the phone go aoway after a short time. I’d like a way to get
all of them, or if that’s not possible, I’d like to at least keep what was
downloaded onto my phone. Perhaps the real old messages are stored locally on
my PC, and this is how Exchange works. I’d just like information regarding this.

That’s all my questions. If there’s a better email amp would do what I want,
I’m open to hear about it.

Thanks in advance for any information regarding this.

Have a blessed day and don’t work too hard.

Keeavin Minor and my Seeing Eye dog, Jilly, Lexington, KY what is your order
online

Yes, my cards have chips too. That seemingly doesn’t matter. I’ve had to
replace an Amazon card twice in as many years. And my Discover card got whacked
a couple of years ago as well. It’s not because I leave it laying around or
give it to somebody and they go off in a corner and do what they want.

RE: Apple Cash card?

2019-08-22 Thread Alan Lemly
I'm with Kelly. I get 2% cash rewards on everything I charge with the Citibank
credit card I use and since it's a Master Card, it is accepted everywhere in
the USA. I don't find many vendors where I live who accept Apple Pay so the
Apple Card rewards would only be 1%. Finally, I have a Chase credit card where
I earn 5% rewards on everything I purchase from Amazon where I purchase a whole
lot more than I do from Apple.

The rotor Chester is what you need to tell him. Developers have accessibility
tools where they can relate that information to what a cited user would be
using.
You can also give him an example of where he can find the rotor gesture when

What language do I use to describe the actions rotor to a developer?

2019-08-22 Thread Matthew Bullis
Hello, I want to give feedback to the developer of the Downcast app,
as well as to eBay about things that you need to flick through which
really can be better handled with the actions rotor. How do I describe
this Voiceover function in non-Voiceover terms?
Thanks,
Matthew

Yes I have set this up. I had no issues with the process. If you follow
the instructions you will have to put in your last four digits of your

I have found that some of these screens need you to tap in the middle

the screen for VoiceOver to focus on the content. It seems that VO
doesn’t refresh when the new page/screen loads.

I wish I could be of more assistance.

RE: Apple Cash card?

2019-08-22 Thread Peter Logan
Zelle works well, however if you have multiple checking accounts, you can only
have one tied to Zelle. Where as with Apple Cash, you can transfer that to any
of your accounts .. I use both of them and they each have pros and cons …

Many banks participate in a program known as "zelle" which does direct payments
without any transaction charges. Not as slick as applepay, but typically well
integrated into your banking app. Chase, for example, has it tightly integrated
within their app, and it works well. The recipient doesn't have to be a chase
customer ... just a customer of a participating bank. For folks I'm only going
to pay once, ApplePay is fine (if they've already got an account). Typically,
if it's someone I've got an ongoing relationship with, I try to coax them to
sign up with zelle.

janet, Thanks. But one more question. Do you open the existing conversation or
go to the place under settings that says people. When I open the APP, I find
the latest message in the conversation. Or do I click on the button that's

I hope this helps and let us know if you have found a solution.

deleting conversations in Messenger

2019-08-22 Thread Duane Steele
Hello Friends,

For anyone using Facebook and Messenger on your iPhone, if you want to delete
conversations, how is this done? I've gone into settings and can't find
anything but deleting secret conversations, and though I have none of those,
I'd like to delete some that I no longer want. Thanks for any help on this.

Arteck hb086 keyboard

2019-08-22 Thread 'Bud Kennedy' via VIPhone
A few days ago, somebody on this list said that they had an Arteck keyboard. I
just bought an arteck hb086 keyboard. Sometimes while typing, I like to have
the onscreen keyboard available as well. On other keyboards I have used, there
is a key or key combination that allows this to happen. Is there such a
mechanism on the Arteck keyboards?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Random Apps Stop Notifying

2019-08-22 Thread Anna Dresner
Hi Brandon,

Have you opened the apps recently? I know that sometimes if you don't open an
app after changing phones, it stops sending notifications. Perhaps reopening
the app will start them up again.

Best,
Anna

Re: vlaying voiceMail

2019-08-22 Thread Richard Turner
I have no trouble playing voice mails other times than the first.
The issue is you have to flick right over to the play button, and if you have
not noticed, it is far better to have headphones on as the volume is very low
since it does not default to the speaker, but the little spot on the screen
where you would have it against your ear.

Hello Friends,

I'm having trouble playing voiceMail messages. When I push play, the message
plays once, and not always through my AirPods. If I try to repeat the message,
I get all kinds of transcription, complete with underscores and all kinds of

been an issue with iOs 12. Does anyone know how to correct it? Thanks.

Random Apps Stop Notifying

2019-08-22 Thread Brandon Olivares
I’ve had trouble with a few apps now where notifications stop being fired. I
had the Discover app which used to notify me when I got a purchase, then one
day just stopped. Now my Capital One app has also stopped sending notifications
ever since I restarted my phone after it died the other day.

I go in to settings and it’s enabled, and all types of notifications are
allowed. They just… don’t show up.

Any idea why this might happen?

Brandon

Re: moving an app from my iPhone to apple watch

2019-08-22 Thread Feliciano Godoy
Hi,
As others stated, there must be an Apple Watch variation of the app so that it
can be on the Apple Watch. If an app is indeed designed for the Apple Watch as
well, inside of the Watch app on your iOS device on the my watch tab, you can
go through the list there and remove or install such apps. In the watch app,
inside of general, there is also a Setting so that apps that have an Apple
Watch variation can be automatically installed on the Apple Watch. I personally
have this setting off and install apps manually as I do not need every app on
my iOS device on my Apple Watch. Hope that helps.

What app is it? Have you checked to make sure it is available for the Apple

Hi Janet,

In the Watch app on your phone, just flick down to the app in question. Double
tap on that and then there shoudl be a button that says sync with your watch or
Use with AppleWatch off or on. Make sure it is on. i don’t know the exact

Re: vlaying voiceMail

2019-08-22 Thread kitty hevener
Yes, I have had that problem with the current and previous updates. Worse
yet, if I have listened to the voicemail message once, I can not listen to
it again. Some folks have gone in to siri and changed the language setting
to another language which eliminates the useless transcription stuff.

Hello Friends,

I'm having trouble playing voiceMail messages. When I push play, the message
plays once, and not always through my AirPods. If I try to repeat the
message, I get all kinds of transcription, complete with underscores and all
kinds of garbage that makes the text unreadable. It's my understanding that
this has been an issue with iOs 12. Does anyone know how to correct it?
Thanks.

Re: Apple Pay Help Please.

2019-08-22 Thread Ed Worrell
