Mark, Other cards offer better rewards. Several cards offer two percent cash back on all purchases. The Chase Ink card offers five percent cash back on cable, Internet and phone services. If someone is buying an iPhone, it can be purchased by the phone or cable provider offering mobile services for five percent cash back. On a $1,000 iPhone, that’s a $50 savings. I did this and demanded my check after I paid my bill and enjoyed cashing it at the bank. Of course the wireless bill and home Internet bill can be charged to the Ink card for even more savings. If someone buys all of his accessories, like charging cables, headphones, wall plugs and cases at the retail outlet of the phone or cable company, they would receive five percent cash back on the ink card.
When the Ink card is combined with two percent cash back on all purchases, the Apple rewards seem paltry. I am not impressed.
