hi Mary, i’m in several Facebook groups, and I’ve noticed for quite a while now
that there is a groups button at the left-hand top portion of the screen right
below the status bar. If I double tap on that that button, it opens up a list
of groups that I belong to and others that I may want to

Let me ask just to be clear… With the Weber thermometer and app, do you the
VoiceOver user have to constantly flick away and back to the temperature
display to get the current reading or can VO speak the temperature reading as
it changes if you leave VO focus on that element?
This would
We use the iGrill and it has connections for four probes. We use this for
smoking and grilling several pieces of meat at a time. We have an ambient
probe plugged in to it as well as 3 regular probes and it works wonderfully
with Voice Over. I have thought about buying the mini for when I am
The iGrill Mini by Weber is a leave-in meat probe that works with their ap. So the brains are bluetooth, but it has a very long wire to the brains, and you pair it with your iPhone. I've used it for a few years now and love. They do have models with more probes, but we never cook more than one
I have as well the Kizen talking thermometer. It does read the temperature
faster than the ThermowWorks RT8400, but the RT8400 does have that hands free
feature which is super helpful and the RT8400’s probe is roughly one quarter of
an inch longer than the Kizen. I did reach out to ThermoWorks
On my 11, the Wal-Mart guy could not get facial ID to work. I took it outside
on west side of the building on a sunny afternoon and got it going myself. So,
when I got my 14 Pro, I just sat here in the house and did it. I am totally
blind, so felt fortunate to have managed to do it.
You could try holding your phone from you a little and hold it parallel to the
ground. Then bend your head forward in line with the phone, and see if that
happens to help better. Also, you could put your phone on a table or desk and
sort of bend toward it, and see if it gets a better focus on
I am totally blind myself, but I turned off the attention awareness thing, so I didn’t quite understand what that meant and what that did and I read much earlier before this thread when I first got this iPhone 14 when I had questions a long time ago on this list I think Richard or somebody I don’t
Hi,
from what I have read we all do this slightly different. I just pick up the
phone off a desk or out of my pocket and hold it about 18 inches or more from
my face on a slide angle so the camera points to my face not my belly.
I do have attention aware turned on as it is better security. I
Hi Sieghard, I don't but that is an excellent idea. I need to find a LazyBoysAreUs website and see if they have an inflatable option. Alan Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 1, 2023, at 1:34 PM, Sieghard Weitzel wrote:

The Apple watch 8 is the omly Apple watch that I know to have an on screen

Thanks a bunch. I was actually in that menu thing, and I saw the shortcut, but
said to myself: I don’t have any shortcuts. What are they talking about? So
thank you very much.

Hi all,
I was on Facebook several years ago and got off intending never ever to darken
their door again. However, due to some circumstances, I’m back on there at
least for a little while. I have successfully joined two groups, one of which I
had to be admitted to as it’s private, the other of

Yes, Richard made an excellent point, turning off attention makes it easier by
a lot.
I could do it fine with attention on except for at night. I lost my sight in an
accident so both my eyes are prosthetic and I prefer to not have them in a t
night and it simply won't work at all in this case

Hi,
Maybe I am expecting way too much for such a little screen, but is
there an onscreen keyboard for the apple watch?
I just got my watch last week and am still trying to figure out all
its capabilities.
I received a slack message this morning which showed up on my watch

Hi Sandy, I expect the majority of problems using Face ID in our community have to do with incorrect distance between phone and face. I find that Face ID works most consistently with this distance: I sit in an easy chair such as a recliner. With the bottom of my phone lined up with my belly button
The friend that helped set up recognition moved the phone around my face up and
down, left and right.
When I have trouble getting it to work I slowly move the phone around, keeping
it facing me and usually hit the right spot.

Check in settings Face ID and Passcode that the setting under the Attention heading says:Require Attention for Face ID, offIf that is on, you have to be looking at the phone in a precise way. It is more flexible when it is off.Even then, sometimes it still doesn't work, but those are the minority.
Hi there,
I have the same issue. Siri doesn’t always work for me either.

straight as you can.

Hi all,
Here is how I do it. It may sound a little bit different than what others have
said.
I started by holding the phone right up to and touching my face. i had the
middle of it right on my face. I then slowly backed the phone away and it then
unlocked after a while. Now I hold it so that
I know this is not the best advice, but just thought to say that I
learned by practice, trials and errors.
I must admit I am weird at figuring out measurement units. In Slovakia
we use metric system like meters, centimeters etc, , so feet, inches and
other units that you use in the U.S. and
I struggled with this on my personal iPhone 11. For my part, I was holding the
phone too close to my face. I now hold it about 18 inches from my face, and it
works almost all of the time. I’d try varying the distances a bit to see if you
can find that sweet spot.
On the iPhone 12 I got from my
Thinking about this, the best way I can describe it is to say hold your phone in your hand or hands, about foot in front of your face, with your elbows close to your sides, and your hands about shoulder height. The phone should be angled Toward you, not necessarily straight up and down. Try doing
