I’ve never had this problem before.
I'm probably one of those where people think I discourage removing things from
the app switcher, but this isn't exactly true. If you're having trouble with
your iPhone, removing apps from the app switcher is absolutely something you
should do. There's also nothing wrong with removing apps from
up with options
like notifications and home and others. It is really neat. I had no idea that
the app switcher was already there under devices and more. thanks everyone for

Though I do the same gesture as Carolyn, I know it works with assistive
touch. It puts it in a list of things to have the phone do and you swipe to it
and double tap.
Yeah on your phone screen,
Put a finger tip down by the bottom of the screen and then slide / flick it up
until you feel the phone vibrate a second time on the slide
And then lift your finger,
And listen for the phone to say app switcher.

I started a new thread to answer your question so as to make it relevant. You
really don't need to close apps on the watch like you do the phone. There is a
way to do this, but for the life of me, I can't remember it. You may also find
it in the AppleWatch users guide on Apple Books.

I googled instructions on doing what the subject says, and according to them I
move up from the bottom of the screen until I feel two haptic vibrations to get

accessibility to ask them what haptic was, and I

Thank you for that. I just tested it on my iPod Touch 6, and it works very
nicely.
I still didn't hear anything about side app switcher, but the four finger flick
left or right does work to switch between apps.

it says this on my 5s, though. the iPad is not upgraded, and it will not
be. to my knowledge, this is not available on the small phones.
