Ron two things, The reason I purchased the IGrill II is because I use
it in my smoker and often cook more than one piece of meat at a time.
Also, chicken only needs to be cooked to 155f to meet safety standards
at least in the United States.

The round display part of the iGrill seperates from the larger rubber piece.
Just pull it apart and you will find the battery compartment on the underside
of the round display.

The smaller iGrill is the one I assume you are referring to? If so, yes, it is
accessible as well. It has one probe instead of two.
