assistance. I found eventually after plenty of backwards and forwards that
getting the volume on the microphone right in system preferences made a

I probably should have warned you, that Spotlight 'Re-Indexing’ your Hard
Drive, depending on how many and what kind of files you have it can take
upwards of an hour or two to re-index.
Let it complete the re-indexing before you test it.
