Don't run them without antenna connected. Very sensitive there.

5/8" Heliax is the largest diameter you can use for 5.8 GHz. LDF4.5-50

Does that work with 2.4 or 5.8? Or 900?

Jeremy,
Since you mention StarOS, I have to ask: why not just use the Lucaya
gear?
If you skip the amps, the X2000 would let your climber take up a
replacement radio and change two RF cables and one ethernet cable.
(for two radios)
Just curious why you seem to reject the StarOS preferred
Do the link budgets including cable loss.
XR cards are 600mW cards, so more output than the amps originally proposed.
I have XR cards on the ground, 150' of LMR600 to antennae at the top and
the links all work as predicted.
I just can't see putting any kind of amp at the top when you can do it

David,
Compex aka r52(h) and xr5 are atheros 5413 for sure.
But the xr5 well outperforms like you said - more so to do with the
"wireless stuff" in the card I am sure.

This! In the past few months, we've replaced a couple towers with
Mikrotik hardware and software. A few of our towers were amped - I'd

Yes, I'm aware, and I've built it both ways
Burst and busted at the same time that is :) Need Dew...

Is that how we can get 2.4 and 5.8 gear on the ground, with an amplifier?
I would love having the gear inside and just coax and amp and antenna
outside way up there!

My first advice is ditch the amp, not necessary and most likely illegal
power. You can get what you need out of the minipci card.
You will want to purchase from US distributor, search for RB411 and you
should have plenty of options, best one probably close to you so you get
them quickly price
I like Ubnt cards - the xr2 and xr5. I think it is a bit more then
the compex cards but well worth it.
