Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone else has run into issues recently trying to
record on Xubuntu 19.04. This evening I recorded a video in OBS and
the audio stuttered quite a bit. At first I thought it might be the
audio cable from my mixer to the mic port, so I chose the web cam as
the mic source
Sorry that’s Aseprite

There’s an old version of Aesprite in the repos that’s great for sprite
animation if you’re trying to create game graphics.

It sounds like Xubuntu might be treating your monitor as a second display.
In the whisker menu type Display.
The Display app should show you your laptop display and the external
monitor. If you want the monitor to display what is on the laptop display
click the mirror displays option.
I use 2
I'm unable to properly import an ovpn file in Xubuntu, it appears to
import, but only the title seems to apply to the Network Manager import,
and the Next button is greyed out.
I installed the network-manager-openvpn (going from memory because I'm
currently on a work machine that's running Mint
close to a fresh install. There may be
some misbehaving hardware. I haven't run into this issue on my Xubuntu
system at home.
Thanks again for all the replies.

I haven't tried this Celso since I don't have this printer, but there
is a driver for it on the HP web site (I guess they probably bought
the Samsung printer line):

Hi Gerald. xset s can also take the parameter on. I think you could probably do:
$ xset s on
$ xset +dpms

Before Xubuntu 20.04 our PXE default file entry looked something like
the following:
LABEL autoinstall-cr-xubuntu-focal-amd64
kernel ubuntu/focal/amd64/linux
append vga=normal initrd=ubuntu/focal/amd64/initrd.gz
locale=en_CA debian-installer/keymap=us netcfg/wireless_wep=
What is the simplest way to add a new item to a panel from the command line?
I see that ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-panel.xml
holds information about what's on the panel, but I'm not exactly sure
how I would add something like the pulseaudio plugin for example.
I found
Peter it's probably called snap store now. Try that.

We are PXE installing Xubuntu by using the Ubuntu Server base and
adding the xubuntu-desktop and several other packages. We're finding
some UEFI machines refuse to boot even with UEFI turned off.
Currently the storage option in user-data looks like:
storage:
layout:
name: direct

If I remember correctly it's:
~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfce4-panel.xml
and
/etc/xdg/xfce4/panel/default.xml
But I could be wrong.

Hi Jonathan,
I just updated several laptops from 20.04 to 22.04, but chose a
different method:
1. Open a terminal (Hold the Windows key and press T)
2. Type the following: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
The commands above will prompt you for your password. The idea is to

It doesn't sound like it, but you may have triggered xkill, a program to
kill Windows. Xkill is useful for killing stubborn programs that won't
close when you tell them. Normally the key combination for this is CTRL +
ALT + ESC. The x then appears and when you click on a window it kills it.

James, afaik you should be able to run a 64 bit version of any OS

Hi Chris, ALT + F4 will let you close windows. If you close all
windows Alt + F4 will bring up the shutdown menu. This is a pretty
handy/fast way to shut down in Xubuntu. (Note: some laptops, like the
