Bill,
Are you living in Thailand now? If so may I ask what you are doing
there?
I do have one small quibble with your post below. I think it most
likely that both Gautama and Jesus were actual historical figures,
Jesus certainly so (after all his and his family's ossuary have been

Good post. Total agreement. Empty yourself and you will be filled.

At midnight I take my dog out to pee
The moon has gone and we see our breaths

Unexpectedly over the far hill we hear coyotes singing
And we raise our cries in answer

Margie,
Truly excellent poem! Pure Zen!

Agreed Edgar!
I know I wasted much time and energy on counting breaths for
months. Then switching to concentrating on the 'rising and falling'
of the diaphram. Then 'in and out' with breath. Then working chakras.
Then mantras. And different sitting positions and different hand
positions. I
Hi Margie,
I love your poem! The objective nature of it makes it full of zen. I hope you
don't mind but I've taken the liberty of writing a commentary to each line just
for fun :) Mike.

Hi Edgar,
I won't paraphrase. It's not the mind that moves. Mike.

I know, I considered myself an atheist from about 1968-1983 and shock of

Hi Edgar-
Ah, marvelous poem. And your point that most people think it's a put
down of zen reminds me... I've had a lot of people tell me there are
too many contradictions in zen and this always makes me laugh.

Cousins or siblings or fellow aliens, we remind me of the story Alan
Watts tells of how when two zennists meet walking down an alley they
immediately know each other. . . Thank you, and I am really enjoying
reading your posts and poems :-)

Hello Bob,
I always find it ironic when I hear that the only reason why people have
morals is because of a fear of God.
I remember when my nephew was traveling around Europe. He left his bag on
the floor next to him at the airport in Israel for 5 minutes and it was
gone. Israel is the home
Margie,
Now this is really excellent! This is your proper reply to 'What is after

Bob,
I agree you don't have to be religious to be ethical. I know many atheist who
are good people. But I also know many who are bad. Especially when they have
power, which they use in a wrong way. What stops you from doing something
'bad'? If nobody possibly notice me, should I steal the
