Hi,
it looks like there is something confusing or wrong in the documentation.
The -s option examples are using either basic|lock or basic|unlock as
their parameter, but using either of them lead to an error.
eg.
# zonemgr -a modify -n mini1 -s basic|lock
Are you sure that you want to modify

A) Why, specifically, can't Non-global roots be placed on NFS?
Cross-zone NFS is currently not allowed; see PSARC 2004/357.
You'd end up with a process in one

I believe all Ben is looking for is the ability to put a local zone's
root-fs on NFS.
Especially with U3's zone-import/export feature, this becomes very
powerful (without having to goof around with lofs and friends)
If there isn't an official (Solaris 10) RFE on this already (I thought

That boils down to the same problem. Processes inside that no-lgobal
zone will issue system calls (such as open(2)) that reference these
files. Somewhere in the middle of the stack, we
I am really glad that you both bring this issue up. I frankly
would rather that there be no license at all. After all there is
nothing new under the Sun in the Zone Manager. Its just a script that
I hope helps make zones management much easier. However I can't open

I'm aware of the RFE for this feature. Do we have an ETA yet?

I cited the RFE in my previous message -- it's CR 4963321.
James, would you mind sharing the rest of the info in CR 4963321?

Wretched, I know.
I'll see what I can do with it.

My question is about the features that were added to zoneadm in the

Andy, you can monitor applications in local zones as you would a global
zone. I am doing just this with the Sun Web Server 6.1. On the server
side is the Web Server Master Agent at the moment, with the Halcyon Sun

Thanks for the explanation.
I'm not going to file a RFE for something not that important. I was more
curious than complaining and the script seems to use only Posix shell
constructions anyway.

Following a previous email sent to that list today, we are running zones on
Solaris U2 machines with the TSM 5.3.4.4 client.
We are running it from the global zone.
Our current standard is to layout the zones as this:
zone name=ldpz8012 zonepath=/zones/ldpz8012 autoboot=true
pool=work1-pool
The short answer is no.
When a processor is transfered from one pset to another, no RCM event is
generated in the global zone, or in any non-global zones. RCM events are only
generated when DR operations take place.
The rcm_daemon only runs in the global zone, as part of the sysevent:default
