Mark,

Well, sounds like you're taking the club back inside too much. I'd work on
taking the club straight back from the ball without breaking your wrists.
Going straight back will force your upper body to turn about 90. Keep the
back of your left hand almost vertical and when your backswing gets about
waist high, cock your wrist straight up, keeping the wrist-to-hand area flat
as it started. The club should go up between your head and right shoulder,
club head hanging down and shaft pointing nearly at the target. If you take
the club too much inside on the backswing, the head gets behind your body
and too flat. Then, you have to really roll the right hand, throwing the
club over the top to make any contact, your body is ahead and the result is
a pull hook.

The Acer XDS2 Pros might be a head you'd like better than the Catapult STS,
because they have almost no offset. If your short irons are too high, you
might look at some of the delofted style heads, which include:
Avocet from Mirage, GV Back and KS Tour from Diamond Tour, PS Series 3 from
Streamline, and there are probably a few others out there. These are
generally low cg irons, so even though they are delofted to 43 and 44 PWs,
they still hit the ball almost a normal height, but about 10-15 yards
farther than normal lofts. Have no idea of the quality of these heads, but
the Acer XDS2 Pros are good ones (though only delofted to a 46 PW).
