If you look at THE famous book that made a big splash when it first came out - "Manwatching" - the statement is exactly the opposite. Slight asymmetry rates higher on a beauty scale than absolute symmetry (produced by mirror-imaging a half-face to make a full face) However - I do admit that having both eyes of the similar size and color and looking in broadly the same direction at the same time, and having both nostrils of equal size and a nose in the middle strike me as features that I would consider as desirable for decent looks. A cockeyed smile (heck what on earth is that?) can sometimes be OK though. shiv
