Ode: Thanks much for your reply!
We don't have many ticks around here; many animals but only found one tick so far (on a male cat after he came home from an excursion). No tick in her ears, either. Looks like we're in for a long ride. After showing some signs of airway troubles last night, she now finally seems to have stabilized. Except for light movements of the head sideways, she's totally paralyzed. I read this disease is most probably an immune reaction to the protein of raccoon saliva, and acts much like an auto-immune disease, with inflamed nerves along the spine. We'll keep up the CS and MMS, and will give her whole body Comfrey poultice wraps in hopes that this might help with inflammation and swelling. Thanks again, Heidi
Look very carefully in the dogs earr for a tick. They sometimes look exactly like a piece of ear. If you find one, pull it off and the dog will be OK in a few hours. Ode
