I use a couple handfuls to about 4 cups of water.
Boil five minutes. You want it strong if you are sick.
Not sure if it is cheaper than tincture, I paid $12 a
pound from Starwest Botanicals. I don't care for
alcohol tinctures if I can make my own tea so I
just keep the leaves on hand.

I have taken up to 750 mg in capsules every hour
or two with a really bad case of flu, I was delirious
and had fever blisters on my mouth, the nerve to
my eyes from my mouth was throbbing so I was
not messing around. I did that for a day and then
cut back to every three or four. Also took Lomatium
St John's Wort compound from Herb Pharm. The
OLE caps make my stomach hurt but if its all you
can find then I guess you could make a tea from
them however I don't know if it is the same so
would probably just swallow the caps and do
something to quell any nausea.

How many olive leaves are used to boil up when making tea? Is it like
1 teaspoon, etc?
Is that any cheaper than getting a storebought extract?

OLE is one of the best remedies in my experience
if taken in sufficient amounts. I prefer to boil up
the leaves for 5 minutes and drink with lemon and
honey, easier to digest that capsules which upset
my stomach.

I have been sort of monitoring the list and haven't seen any posts saying
they had kicked up a flu bug. So, have any of you folks been flu ridden?
My wife is considering a regular flu shot because she has developed a
respiratory problem over the years and attributes it to mold in our house.
I refuse to buy into it because we have not had standing water or
continuous lockage into wall cavities. We do have a few small mold like
stains on some sheetrock in our basement but I tell her she would probably
se the same in any average basement. She isn't considering H1N1 vaccine. I
haven't had a shot in 10 years and don't plan to have any in the near or
distant future.

Let's have a show of hands.....anyone caught a flu bug this year?
